Extensive Ceremonies Mark Formal Laymen's Institute
Installation of Rabbi Moses Lehrman To Open Nov. 17

America will deliver the princi-
pal address.
Harry Rosman will be toast-
master of the evening. Mrs. Alex
Fisch, past president of the Sis-
terhood, is chairman of the ar-
rangements committee for the
dinner.

Dr. Glueck Installed
In Jewish Institute of
Religion Presidency

The National Layman's Insti-
tute sponsored by the • National
Federation of Men's Clubs, Na-
tional Academy for Jewish Adult
Studies and the Men's Club of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek, under the
auspices of the Jewish Theolog-
ical Seminary of America, will
open Wednesday, Nov. 17.
Rabbi Henry Fisher will de-
liver an address on "A Program
for American Jewry." Rabbi
Fisher who is from Cong. Bnai
Zion of Chicago, was on the
faculty of the 1947 Layman's In-
stitute.
The Institute sessions will con-
tinue Thursday and Friday eve-
nings, Saturday morning, Satur-
day evening, Sunday afternoon
and will conclude with a dinner
meeting Sunday evening.
It will afford an opportunity
for a brief but concentrated per-
iod of study of the Bible, Jewish
concepts and observances. The
presentations will be followed by
discussion of crucial Jewish is-
sues. Instruction will be by Rab-
bis Morris Adler and Ralph Si-
mon. Rabbi Simon is spiritual
leader of Cong. Rodfei Zedek,
Chicago, and author of "The
Talmud for Every Jew."
