Mrs, Maurice Landau
Led Major 'Revolution'
In Women's Records

A revolution took place two
yearS ago behind the scenes in
the records of the Women's Divi-
sion of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration and, when they traced it
down to the source, they found

MRS. MAURICE LANDAU
that one dynamic woman with a
strong will, inexhaustible energy
and a big idea had accomplished
the whole revolution.
This prime mover was Mrs.
Maurice A. Landau, long a leader
—and a worker—in every phase
of organized women's activities.
The revolution was the organi-
zation of the more than 18,000
cards in the Women's Division
according to addresses, providing
a geographical breakdown of
Jewish women in Detroit, .a pro-
ject which had iong been needed.
This one incident is character-
istic of Mrs. Landau, of her devo-
tion, her imagination and her
patience. Breaking down those
cards took several months of full
time work in 1946; yet, now, Mrs.
Landau has embarked on the
equally long job of bringing that
geographical organization up to
date.
Some of the other posts she has
filled with equal faithfulness in-
clude membership on the board
of governors of the Federation,
