BERLIN (JTA)—The. contro-
versial British-made motion pic-
ture, "Oliver Twist," the show-
ing of which was indefinitely de-
layed in the United States loi-
lowing protests that the portrayal
of the Dickensian character, Fa*-
gin, a Jew, might fan the flames
of anti-Semitism, will be exhib-
ited in the U. S. zone - of Germany.
Permission to show the disput-
ed movie was granted to Eagle-
Lion distributors here by Col.
Gordon Textor, head of the U. S.
Information Services, who was
reported to have said that he saw
nothing in the film which might
stir up anti-Semitic feeling. Tex-
tor granted the local movie dis-
tributors permission to show the
film despite protests from various
officials in the U. S. Military
Government. The task of "dub-
bing in" German dialogue has al-
ready begun.
