Patron Tickets
Selling Well for
Balfour Event
Sales of patron tickets ranging
from $100 to $10 have started
coming in to the Zionist office
for the Balfour Ball to be held
Saturday night, Nov. 13, at the
Statler.
Harry Cohen is chairman of
the combined Balfour Ball-Am-
erican Zionist Fund effort of the
Zionist Organization of Detroit.
Dr. Philip E. Lachman is in
charge of programming for the
event and has arranged for the
entire Statler Hotel ballroom
floor to be taken up by the ball.
The cocktail lounge will be sit-
uated in one of the large rooms
on the ballroom floor.
A large well-known orchestra
and a rhumba band will be en-
gaged for the dancing. Dr. Lach-
man also is seeking professional
entertainment.
"The response to our combined
appeal this year is heartening
thus far," Cohen said. "Most of
our workers of previous years
are already busy obtaining sub-
scriptions, and many new mem-
bers have become active in the
effort this year. The many new
faces I see indicate an auspicious
future for the Zionist movement
in Detroit, for these people un-
derstand the needs of the coming
period so well that they are de-
voting a great deal of time and
effort to make this fund-raising
campaign a success."
. Mrs. Albert Feldstein, execu-
tive secretary of the Zionist Or-
ganization of Detroit, reported
that subscriptions in many cases
ar.- even larger than the donations
made by individuals in previous
years to the American Zionist
Fund. Subscriptions to the ball
can be secured at the Zionist of-
fice, 1031 Penobscot Bldg., WO.
5-1484. The subscriptions are in
