MRS. CLARA MILLER, 75,
died Sept. 28. Funeral services
were held at Hebre,w Benevolent
Society. Rabbi Rabinowitz offi-
ciated. She is survived by her
sons, Ben and Erwin; daughters,
Mrs. Caroline , Berkowitz, Mrs.
Celia Schwartz, Mrs. Sarah Ru-
bin; sixteen grandchildren, four
great-grandchildren.

took a group of veterans from the
Dearborn Veterans Hospital to a
baseball game at Briggs Stadium
Sept. 29. After the game, George

The HOSPITAL FOR MENTAL
DISEASES

Jerusalem, will be the benefic-
iary of a $50,000 campaign launch-
ed by a committee of prominent
psychiatrists and businessmen,
according to an announcement
made by Edward A. Norman,
president of the American Fund

for Palestinian Institutions, repre-
sentative of the hospital in the
United States. The Jerusalem hos-
pital, situated close to the firing
zone, has sent urgent pleas for
immediate funds.

10,000 "KITS FOR THE •ARMY
OF ISRAEL" were sent to the
valiant defenders of Israel in
time for the High Holidays, Sam-
uel Smith, chairman of Kits for
the Army of Israel, 250 W. 57 St.,

sent to American boys by the
Red Cross during World. War II,

TEL AVIV (JTA)—The first
Arabic newspaper to appear in
Jaffa since the city was captured
by the Israeli forces last summer
was published Sept. 29. The news-
paper, El Yom, is edited by Mi-
chael Assaf, well known Jewish
expert on Arab affairs.
