Inter-Group Event
For Fall Festival
Inaugurating a plan of active
inter-group programming on the
young adult -level, the Detroit
Jewish Young Adult Council has
invited a Protestant and a Cath-,
olic youth group to participate in
the celebration of Sukkoth at 2
p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at the Jew-
ish Center.
Shaarey Zedek Young People's
Society will act as host for the
Young. Adult Council. The pro-
gram will include the traditional
Sukkoth ceremonies, including
the blessing of the festival sym-
bols, the Lulav and Esrog, in the
Sukkah at the Center; interpreta-
tive dancing symbolizing the
harvest season, and choral pres-
entations.
Folk dancing and singing, fol-
lowed by refreshments, will com-
plete the afternoon. All young
Jewish adults in the community
are invited.
The Council inter-group com-
mittee, under the chairmanship
of Sol J. Schwartz, is planning
the event.
Detroit Jr. Hadassah
Distributing Record
Album 'Israel in Song'
Junior Hadassah has been des-
ignated sole distributor in the
United States of the record al-
bum produced by the Palestine
Art Corporation, "Israel in Song."
The album contains four records
of music composed and played
by Nachum Nardi, the celebrated
Israeli pianist and composer of
Israel. The songs, which are sung
in Hebrew, are each introduced
by a translation in English.
In. Detroit the records are be-
ing sold by special orders placed
with Judy Pregerson, 3007 Webb,
TO. 8-8044, or the local president,
Shirley Schubiner, TO. 6-7687.
Money raised through sale of
these records helps maintain
Junior Hadassah's children's vil-
lage, Meier Shfe-yah, where desti-
tute and orphaned children find
a haven and security.

City-Wide Benefit Show
Tito Guizar, star of screen,
stage and radio, will be guest
artist at the annual city-wide
fund raising affair sponsored by

The council has set a goal of
$75,000 to meet district alloca-
tions, which. help support all
Bnai Brith projects.
This year marks the silver an-
niversary of one of Bnai Brith's
major projects, Hillel, the campus
organization for Jewish college
students. On Nov. 7, ground will
be broken at the University of
Illinois for a modern structure
which will hause the Roosevelt
Four Freedoms library and the
Illinois Hine] Foundation. The
women of District Six will fur-
nish this new home completely
and $20,000 will be needed for
this program.

JCC Offers Wide
Program for Youth
An extensive program of fall
activities has been outlined for
young adults at the Jewish Cent-
er, under the direction of Yehud-
ah Rosenman.
Clubs which will begin opera-
tion in November include a mar-
ried couples' group, Nov. 9; a
dramatic group, Nov. 3; Jewish
cooking club, Nov. 2; arts and
crafts classes, Nov. 1; and Ameri-
can and Palestinian folk dancing
classes, Nov. 17. A ballroom dance
series already is in session.
A four-week institute on mar-
riage problems will begin Nov.
2, and the young adult lounge
program will open Nov. 1, with
the lounge open every evening
for dancing and informal recrea-
tional programs.
