men's Division of the Jewish Welfare Federation at the Di-
vision's annual meeting Sept. 22 at the. Detroit Institute of
Arts:

All division members previous-
ly announced as nominees for
the board of directors were
elected.
In her annual presidential re-
port, Mrs. Frank reviewed the
division's activities in the "Year
of Destiny" *just passed, and ex-
pressed the hope that the coming
year would be one of "Accom-
plishment, Fruition and Peace."
Following luncheon and the
business meeting, a panel dis-
cussion was presented on the re-
cently-completed Hunter Survey
of Detroit's social welfare facili-
ties. Participating were Mesdames
Leonard H. Weiner, chairman,
Benjamin Jaffe, Charles Lakoff,
Alexander W. Sanders, Sidney
H. Marwil, Julian H. Krolik and
Miss .Pearl Devenow. Robert Mac-
Rae, executive director of the
Detroit Council of Social Agen-
cies, served as resource person.
The discussion revealed a
number of shortages on Detroit's
social welfare scene, particularly
in child care service and group
work and recreational facilities.
In the former category, a par-
ticular need seen for foster
homes for orphaned children or
youngsters whose parents are un-
able to care for them. The Jew-
ish Social Service Bureau's ehil-
dren's, division has been issuing
urgent pleas for foster homes in
recent months.
With regard to recreational ac-
tivities, it was pointed out that
the young adult and older teen-
age groups are poorly served, one
of the factors leading to the cur-

broadcast Friday, Oct. 1, from
7:30 td 7:45 p.m. and the music
of Yom Kippur will be the sub-
ject of the radio program Fri-
day, Oct. 8, from 7:30 to 7:45 p.m.
Participating in the musical
renditions will be Cantor Robert
S. Tulman; the Temple Israel
choir, directed by Dan Frohman,
and Karl Haas, organist. Rabbi
Leon Fram will serve as corn-
mentator.
Featuring these programs will
be the blowing of the Shofar
and the rendition of Kol Nidre.
