Habonim Council 14—THE

Habonim's Camp Kinneret com-
pleted its 12th season with the
coni7ening of the first national
council of Habonim since the
declaration of the Jewish state.
The council meeting was high-
lighted by dissusions on "Israel
and Galut" and "Habonim's
Answer to the Needs of Israel."
Reports were made on the 120
Habonim members who have
trained at a Hechalutz farm be-
fore leaving for chalutziut in
Israel.
Two new training farms are be-
ing founded at Riverside, Calif.,
and Albany, N. Y. A group of
Habonim are now in training at
Ramat Yochanan in Israel and
expect to complete their settle-
ment preparation in May. More
than 250 Habonim members are
working at four settlements,
Kfar Blum, Maayan Baruch,'
-Heirut Bet and Ramat Yochanan.
Camp Kinneret's program this
year accented Palestinian and
Jewish themes. Physical facili-
ties at the camp were improved
with the construction of volley-
ball and basketball courts and
the laying out of a baseball dia-
mond.

2 Hebrew Courses
Offered at Wayne

The Jewish Community Coun-
cil announces that two courses in
elementary and advanced He-
brew will be given this semester
at Wayne University.
Elementary course, Hebrew I,
is designed to introduce the lan-
guage to new students. The
course is open not only to those
registered at the university but
also to others, including High
School students who are inter-
ested. It may be taken either for
credit or as a non-credit course.
Detroiters wishing to familiar-
ize themselves with the Hebrew
language may obtain information
about the elementary and the
advanced course, Hebrew 103.
Louis Panush is the instructor.
Information may be obtained
from the Language Department
of the University, TE. 1-1450.
Prompt action is necessary since
registration is now in progress.
