_Truman, Marshall in Accord
On Entire Israeli Situation

WASHINGTON, (JTA)—American policy in Palestine has
the complete accord of both President Truman and Secretary of
State George Marshall, and reports that the two men differ on
the Israel question are false and dangerous, the authoritative
"Army and Navy Journal" declared.
In a page one editorial, the highly influential but unofficial
Journal castigated the circulation of "unfounded reports of dif-
ferences in our high diplomatic command" over Palestine policy.
"There is no truth whatever in the reports," the article stated.
"It should be realized by everyone, and most especially the active
- friends of Israel, that the development and continuance of peace
negotiations between the Jews and Arabs are of highest
portance." •
It emphasized that a serious threat to world peace is still in-
herent in the Palestine situation and that the issues are "so grave"
that "while there is ,a real prospect of peace, nothing should be
done to muddy the waters. It will be a real service to world peace
- to stop the circulation of false reports of important differences in
Palestine policies," the article pointed out.
The Journal said it was featuring this editorial because of
-
tliC "presence of U. S. military personnel in Palestine and of our
naval vessels in the seas of that area."

allowing arms material to be routed through its territory for use in Israel, it was con-
firmed here.
Despite previous protests that it knew nothing of reports that the U. S. Embassy in
Prague sharply censured the Czechoslovak regime for such assistance to Israel, the
State Department has made representations to the Czechoslovak government.
This was officially admitted to the JTA by a State Department spokesman. He said
the protest to Prague was delivered through Count Folke Bernadotte, UN mediator for
Palestine. It was sent "within the last two weeks." The U. S. protest is concerned.with
the fact that no government is to ship arms to Holy Land combatants while the UN
truce is in effect.. This was the gist of the protest through Bernadotte.
Specifically, howeVer, the U. S. made representations over "Americans allegedly
trying to fly planes to Israel" from airfields in Czechoslovakia. The State Department
had learned that three Americans engaged in this practice wished to revoke their pass-
ports. State Department did not know the whereabouts- of these three men and thus di-
rected inquiries to the Prague government "which would certainly know where the
flyers are because Czechoslovakia is a police state and keeps a register of all foreigners
in the country and their hotels," the official said.
To date, the State Department has not been able to locate Americans to revoke their
passports. The State Department spokesman said that he knew of no plans to take sanc-
tions agahist Czechoslovakia, if the flyers are not apprehended. "What further sanc-
tions could we take?" he asked.

Seven Tasks Assigned to World Zionist Executive

The Zionist .,Actions Committee Tuesday allocated to the World
Zionist Executive seven specific tasks for which the body is to be responsible and which
it would carry out independently of the Israel Government.

An Israel exhibit will be one of the features of the
Michigan State Fair, opening Sept. 3 and continuing through
Sept. 12.
The Israel exhibit will be located with other informa-
tional and cultural displays in an area under the race track
grand stand at the fair grounds.
The Israel 'display will highlight the industrial, agri-
cultural and cultural development of the fledgling nation,
and will include much of the material which has previously
been on display in the famous Rockefeller Center exhibit
in New York City. This material includes impressive blow.
up scenes of activities in Israel and samples of Israeli pro-
ducts.
The Israel exhibit is being jointly sponsored by the
Jewish Community Council, the Zionist Council of Detroit,
Bnai Brith Aid-to-Israel and the American Jewish Congress
Council.
An exhibit of the work of the Jewish Community
Center also is being sponsored at the State Fair.
