Zedek, whiCh was solemnized by
Rabbi Morris Adler and Cantor
Jacob Sonenklar, the bride chose
a gown of white chantilly lace.
Her tiara of seed pearls held a
finger-tip veil of illusion. She car-
red a 'White Bible with bridal
roses and floral streamers.
Her attendants were her sister,
Mrs. Isadore Trebuck, Mildred
and Hilda Jakont, and her niece,
Penny Ellen Trebuck, flower girl.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Greenberg of Glad-
stone Ave., was attended by San-
ford Goldman and Isadore Tre-
buck.

ception was held at the Engineer-
ing Society of Detroit banqiiet

Mrs. Morris Hershaft, formerly

riage of their daughter, Ruth, to
Bernard Wiener of Los Angeles.
The wedding took place Aug. 22
in Los Angeles.
The bride was attended by
her sister, Mrs. Eleanor Kay. The
best man was Sidney Hershaft.
Mrs. Weiner has just returned
from. Saipan, M.I., where he did
civilian work for the United
States government.

The bride wore an exquisite
marquisette gown with bowed
neckline, boufant sleeves and
long train. Her fingertip veil of
illusion net was delicately at-
tached to a crown of orange
blossoms. She chose to wear
pearls, and carried white carna-
tions and lilies-of-the-valley,
centered by a white orchid.
Judith Boraks was her sister's
maid of honor and Mrs Ted Le-
pofsky was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Sheldon
Kaplan, Rita Bricker, Audrey
Allen and Elaine Gorman. Adi-
vat). Rosenberg was floWer girl.
Marvin Gorman served his
brother as best man. Ushers
were Sheldon Kaplan, Arnold
Faudman, Ted Lepofsky and
Harry Eisenberg. Jeffrey Gordon
was ring bearer.
Out-of-town guests included
Mrs. Samuel Shore and daughter,
Michelle, and . Mr. and Mrs. J.
Young of Philadelphia; Mr. and

After a two-week honeymoon

Fall Class Plans

Leaders Stress Need
For Jewish Education

Plans for the new school year
at Bnai David Religious School
were announced this week by
Rabbi Eric Greenbaum.
The curriculum will include
classes in Bible, Jewish history,
Jewish holidays, laws and cus-
toms and other subjects. The He-
brew program begun last year
will be enlarged this fall, and
special emphasis will be placed
on developing a positive attitude
in the children toward Judaism
and the State of Israel, according
to Rabbi Greenbaum.
Registration for elementary
and high school grades will open
Sept. 12 at Central High School.

NEW Y 0 R K. — Prominent
Jewish leaders have issued a call
to Jewish parents in all parts of
the United States urging them
to enroll their children in Jew-
ish religious schools during Jew-
ish Education Month, the annual
registration drive sponsored by
the American Association for
Jewish Education, which will
start Sept, 15, and will culminate
in Jewish Education Week,
Oct. 16-23.
Those who signed the Call to
Parents included Michael A.
Stavitsky, president of t h e
American Association for Jew-
ish Education, and presidents of
all national Jewish organiza-
tions.

Pisgah Lodge Golfers
Plan Outing Sept. 13

Pisgah Lodge of Bnai Brith
will hold its first golf outing
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday,
Sept, 13, at Rammler Golf and
Country Club.
The outing will be run off on
a kickers handicap, with prizes
for low scores, longest drive, and
other outstanding feats, accord-
ing to Morris Burnstein, athletic
chairman of the lodge.
A dinner will conclude the
sports events. Entry fees must
be mailed to BurnStein, 3294 Pas-
adena, not later than Sept. 5.

Sholom Aleichem Institute will
hold its annual reunion of mem-
bers, friends and parents of stu-
dents during the Labor Day

Sholom Aleichem president, is in
charge of arrangements for the
weekend, in cooperation with the

planned, including entertain-
ment by Cantor Pavel Slavensky
and the Cleveland Theater
Studio. Boating, swimming and
dancing are on the reunion
schedule. Moishe Haar will di-
rect the program, with Mrs.
Frances Shayne as chief dining
room hostess.

assurance that the next session
of Congress will consider revis-
ing the present Displaced Persons
Act—which was denounced by
President Truman as anti-Semi-
tic—was given by Senator Alex-
ander Wiley, chairman of the
Senate Judiciary Committee,. in
a communication to Ugo Carusi,
head of the Displace Persons
Commission which will adminis-
ter the program calling for the
admission of 205,000 displaced
persons to this country within
the next two' years.
