Hadassah Sets $135,000 Goal
For 1948 Honor Roll Drive •
Detroit Hadassah has set a
goal of $135,000 for its 1948 Honor
Roll drive, which will start on
Sept. 9 and is scheduled to con-
clude with a victory meeting on
Oct. 27.
Mrs. Alfred Meyers, who has
been . named chairman of the
drive for the entire, Detroit chap-
ter, stated that, for the first time
since its inception, the 1948
Honor Roll will be combined with
a membership campaign.
Hadassah's original goal, label-
ed by the organization's founder,
the late Miss Henrietta Szold, as
"The Healing of the Daughter of
My People," has been expanded
and includes Youth Aliyah, the
settlement of thousands of chil-
dren in - Israel, in cooperation
With the Jewish Agency; and the
redemption of land with the co-
operation of the Jewish National
Fund.
In addition to Mrs. Meyers,
general chairman, the following

Windsor Bnai Brith
To Stage Production
For Welfare Campaign
Windsor Lodge of Bnai Brith
has accepted a $10,000 quota as
its contribution • to the Windsor
Welfare Fund campaign Schedul-
ed for this fall.
To help raise that quota, the
lodge will stage a theatrical pro-
duction, "The Show of the Year,"
Sunday, Oct. 17, at the Capitol
Theater in Windsor. B. .B. MM-
den, head of the arrangements
committee, announces that a num-
ber of noted Broadway artists
will participate in the stage show.

Survey, a 150-page report on De-
troit's health, welfare and recrea-
tion services, will be the featured
topic at the luncheon meeting of
the Women's Division of the
Jewish Welfare Federation Wed-
nesday, Sept. 22, at the Detroit
Institute of Arts. .
Members of the Division will
hear a panel of eight women de-
scribe the results of the isurvey
and present the challenges that it
places before the people of De-
troit. Robert MacRae, executive
director of the Council of Social
Agencies, will lead the discus-
sion, and the panel will include
Mesdames Benjamin Jaffe, Ju-
lian H. Krolik, Charles Lakoff,
Sidney H. Marwil, Alexander W.
Sanders, Raymond Sokolov,
Leonard H. Weiner and Morris
Zwerdlingi and Miss Pearl Deve-
now.
The Survey faces squarely the
questions most frequently asked
about social services in metro-
politan Detroit and answers hon-
estly with facts and figures which
are of immediate interest to
every philanthropic contributor
