Ships Four Carloads
After a dinner in honor of the
visiting delegation of the Israel
Government, a large meeting was
held that evening at the Shaarey
Zedek, and the overflow audience
hailed the Israeli 'leaders and
acclaimed the effort to aid the
Israeli people and army.
Morris M. Jacobs, president of
the Zionist Organization of De-
troit, who presided at Monday's
meeting, announced that four car-
loads of equipment, including a
valuable steam shovel, an ambu-
lance, a jeep, a truck, diesel,

food which was then on the way
from Flint. He expressed thanks
to the Michigan communities

and welcomed the representatives
from Flint, Bay City, Benton

ZOA Economic Plans
Benjamin Doft of New York,
one of the speakers, outlined the
ZOA program to aid industries
in Israel and stated that the
$25,000,000 investment project is
expected to lend great encourage-
ment to the efforts to advance
Israel's economy. He declared
that Zionist services still are
urgently needed, that there will
be need for reorientation of many
.activities but that Zionism re-
mains an important factor in

"Israel's Spirit
Joseph Jacobson of Jerusalem,
assistant war minister of Israel,
said that the spirit of the people
of Israel is responsible for the
victories of the Jewish people.
He declared that Israel has done
a great service to all Jewry by
having broken the myth' that
Jews are not fighters.
"We want peace with the Arabs,
JOSFPII JACOBSON
but we won't admit fifth colum-
nists," Jacobson said. "When the
Arabs show that they understand
this, we'll admit them to Israel."
He stated emphatically that Jews
won't give up Jerusalem and de-
clared: "The future of our coun-
try is good. If you will give our
boys the tools, they'll do the
job."
