David S. Diamond, president of
Diamond Screw Products Co. of
Wyandotte, has been named chair-
man of the 1948 Down River Com-
munity Chest Campaign. In the
past two years he headed the
Chest's corporation gifts .division
in communities southwest of De-
troit He is president of the Down
River Chamber of Commerce,
past president of Wyandotte Ro-
tary Club and a director of the
Down - River Shrine Club. He is
well known in Detroit Jewish
circles. Mrs. Diamond is a past
president of Detroit Hadassah.

Pomeroy and Martin in his talk
entitled "What's Wrong With the
Kinsey Report?"

of the Center Aug. 12. The -pro-
gram included a talk by Frances
Winokur, director of Camp Habo-
nim, a film shown by Sam Milan,
administrative director of the
camp, and a swimming contest

In the spirit of brotherhood the
children of Camp Habonim pre-
sented a tree to St. Joseph's
Church, a neighbor of the Jewish
Center. The presentation was held
Aug. 13. The program was
planned by the children under
the guidance of counselor. Larry
Applebaum, and included the ac-
ceptance of the tree by Rev. Tho-
mas Ham. After the tree planting
ceremony, Rev. Ham took the
children. on a tour of the church.

CENTER TEEN-AGERS visited
Jewish agencies Aug. 19. The
group met at the Jewish Welfare
Federation headquarters a n d
toured the Federation office, the
Jewish Vocational Service and
the Jewish Community Council.
The next trip planned by the in-
termediate department of the
Center will be to WWJ-TV. Teen-
agers interested in participating
are invited to contact Mort Good-

At a candlelight ceremony
July 4, Lillian Klau, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Klau, spoke
her marriage vows to Sam V.
Matz, son of Mrs. Rose Matz, at
Beth Tefilo Emanuel Synagogue.
The bride wore a gown of
creamy satin with a sweetheart
neckline. The three tiered veil
was held by a queen's crown of
duchess lace. Over her white
satin Bible, she carried white
orchids and stephonitis.
Ruth Klau, sister of the bride,
was maid-of-honor, and Mrs.
William H. Klau was matron-of-
honor. The bridesmaids were
Esther Matz, Gail Matz, Ilene
Morof, Bernice Abugow and Let-
ty Hoffman. Best man was Mor-
ris Matz, brother of the bride-
groom, and ushers were Thomas
Nessel, Leon Forman, Jerry
Morof, Irving Morof and William
H. Klau.
The couple spent their honey
moon in New York and Atlantic
City.
Intercollegiate Zionist Federa-
tion of America will hold its
summer school camp from Sept.
3 to 13 at Camp Chi, Loon Lake,
Ill. Theme of the camp will be
"Israel, the Jewish Future and
You."
Patterned after life in the
communal settlements of Pales-
tine, the IZFA camp is planned
and governed by the students. It
is open to all IZFA members, in-
cluding entering freshmen at
Wayne University.

NEW YORK, (JTA) — The
Israeli National Soccer team, all
of whose members are enlisted in
the Defense Army of Israel, will
play a series of games against
the U. S. Olympic Soccer Team,
Chaim Glovinsky, president of
the Israel Soccer Football Asso-
ciation, revealed on his arrival
from London. The first game will
be played here Sept. 26 at the
Polo Grounds, proceeds going to
the United Jewish Appeal.
The Israeli high command,
Glovinski said, has approved
special furloughs for the players
for their visit to America. The
Israeli team is composed of the
Jewish state's champion soccer_
player and represents the three
major athletic associations in
Israel—Hapoel (Labor Zionists),
Maccabi (General Zionists) and
Betar (Revisionists.)
