Israeli Family Needs
$300 Monthly IncOme

NEW YORK — An average
Israeli family with two children,
planning its budget on the basis
of a moderate fixed income, has
to cope with as many high cost
of living problems as a similar
family in the United States, and
requires at least $300 a month
to maintain its pre-war standard
of living, according to Dr. Israel
Goldstein, United Palestine Ap-
peal national chairman.-
Prior to World War II, in 1939,
Dr. Goldstein said, this same
family was able to live on a
monthly income of $80 to $90
which rose to about $200 a month
during the war and reached the
$300 mark • in the early months
of this year.
