MISS GLENNA KATZ

NEW YORK, (JPS)—"Marry-
ing" frauleins have no difficulty
following their G. I. boy friends
to the United States. But the
picture is nitich different when
it involves' a Jewish girl, sur-
vivor • of Dachau death camp,
whose American financee has
been trying desperately for
months without result, to get
her an entry visa. •
The girl is Friedel Rosenthal
who spent 7 years in Dachau
where her mother was killed in
the gas chambers. When the
Americans came in 1945 she met
James C. Bilotta, of Lawrence,
Mass., who nursed her back to
health. They decided to marry
and Bilotta returned home and
sent the documents necessary to
bring the girl here.
"Thereupon", Bilotta says,
"Friedel was subjected to a ser-
ies- of grillings and political in-
terrogations by the CIC (counter-
intelligence corps) - which were
more than just the routine screen- .
ing process. It seemed that I
was the one being investigated
rather than her. They wanted to
know from her all about my
political life. They tried to dis-
suade her from joining me. They
suggested rather indelicately that
there were other boys in Frank-
fort for her. She was even ques-
tioned by the German woman
secretary to the Consul, a hurnil-
.iating experience, The grilling,
the buck passing, the attempts
to discourage her from joining
me left her in an hysterical state.
