Archie Barnett of Pontiac.
Mrs. Lawrence Crohn has returned from a week's visit in Balti-
more and New York where, on Monday, she met her son, David, who
returned from Beirut, Lebanon, where he had been interned and
prevented from reaching Israel.
Miss Sadie Hirschman - of Glynn Ct. and Mrs. Irving Hirschman
of Whitmore Rd. left on Monday for an extended stay in Frankfort.
Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Lieberman of Santa Barbara Dr. are leav-
ing this week-end for a few weeks' stay in Charlevoix.
Mrs. Herbert Levin of Chicago spent the last week-end with her

Mrs. Mac Lane and son, Kenneth, )f Fullerton Ave. left on
Thursday for a few weeks stay in Charlevoix.
Dr. Allan H. Kline of Cortland Ave. left on Saturday for a short
visit in Chicago from where he will go on to Frankfort, Mich.
Dr. and Mrs. Edward E. Levine of Whitmore Rd. returned from
a stay in Sleepy Hollow, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Traxler of the Belcrest Hotel are spending
a few weeks at the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Chicago.
Mrs. Bernard Komer, who spent a few weeks with her brother-
in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Waldbott of Fairfield Ave., has
returned to Elmira, N. Y., where she is spending the summer with
her son, Stewart. Their guest, Mrs. Rose Adler, left on Friday for
her home in Hollywood, Fla.
Mrs. John L. Brown of Strathcona Dr. - returned on Tuesday from
Chicago where she visited her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Buhai.
Mr. and 'Mrs. Howard Jacobson and daughter, Margo, of Dum-
barton Rd. left on Monday on a fortnight's fishing trip in Northern
Canada.
Mrs. Luis Perelman and her two children of New York are visit-
ing her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Noah Aronstam of Eason Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Parven, their daughter, Beverly, and son,
Howard, of Glendale Ave. spent the last week in Boston.

elected chairman of Hashofar
for 1948-49. Also reelected were

at the ceremony, which was
followed by a dinner and recep-
tion.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Berman
of W. Euclid avenue, are t h e
parents of the bride, and t he
bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Kohlenberg of
Leslie Ave.
The bride wore a traditional
gown of white satin and lace.
Her fingertip veil fell from a
matching =lace crown, and s h e
carried a cascade of white orch-
ids on a Bible.
Mrs. Samuel Linsky was ma-
tron of honor, and Eunice
Schneider, Muriel. Kohlenberg,
Jeanette Devonow and Sylvia
Star were bridesmaids.
David Kohlenberg served as
best man and the ushers were
Norman Rosenfeld, Led Kohlen-
berg, Louis Berman and Martin
Kohlenberg. Larrie Dubin w a s
ringbearer and Terry Ann Gold-
berg was flower girl.
Out-of-town guests from Cal-
ifornia, New York, Chicago and
Toronto - were present.
The newlyweds are honey-
mooning in New York and South
America. They will reside on
Ardmore Ave. in Detroit.

Auction For Israel

Carload of Lowly Carrots
Nets $6,800 Contribution

A $6,800 contribution to the
Israeli Army was made by buy-
ers at the Union Produce Ter-
minal last week, when a carload
of carrots, contributed by a
group of West Coast shippers,
was, auctioned off by Rabbi Mor-
ris Adler.
After most of the carload had
been auctioned to wholesalers at
prices rangings from $15 to $600
a crate, the entire car was sold
again at market price. -

fifth annual exhibition of Jewish

state—opened here on schedule.
