N. Y. Regents Approve
Hebrew in High Schools

ALBANY, N.Y. (JTA) — The
teaching of Hebrew in New York
State's high schools as a fully-
accredited modern foreign lan-
guage was approved by the State
Board of Regents. There are at
present between 3,000 and 4,000
students in New York City who
are students of Hebrew.
Dr. Abraham I. Katsh, of New
York University, and Abraham
Aaroni, of Thomas Jefferson High
School, Brooklyn, have been ap-
pointed by the State Education
Department to prepare a Hebrew
syllabus.

Wayne University. Dr. Milinsky
received his degree in veterinary
medicine from Michigan State
College.
