Mrs. Dewey Gotlieb of Tuscon, Ariz., is spending the month as
the guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Saul Gotlieb
of Dumbarton Rd.
Mrs. Frieda Bloch of Tel Aviv, Palestine, is spending a few
Weeks in Detroit visiting with members of her family.
Dr. and Mrs. Daniel E. Cohn of Kentucky Ave. have as their
guests her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. Mannheimer of Miami Beach, Fla.
Dr. Arthur Miller, w ho served with the U. S. Army Medical
Corps for the last two yea rs, has received his discharge and is now
at his home in Buena Vis to Ave. with Mrs. Miller and their small
daughter, Cynthia.
Israel Davidson of R aananah, Palestine, is visiting here with
members of his family.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel l3enderoff have returned to their. home in
New York City after a visit on the occasion of the consecration of
their niece, Diane Sue Ro berts of Roselawn Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Meretsky of Windsor had as their guests
last week Mr. and Mrs. H erbert Weiss, Mr. 'and Mrs. Milton Weiss,
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence K ert, their daughter, Lenore, and their son,
Leslie, all of Toronto.
Frieda Frazer will spend her vacation from Michigan State
College with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Frazer of Leslie Ave.
Dr. Jerome Kornheiser of 2242 Blaine Ave. received the degree
of Doctor of Dentistry June 9 from the University of Detroit.
June Gold, daughter o f Mr. and Mrs. 'Louis Gold of Clements
Aye., received her Mast er's degree from Wayne University on
June 17.
Mr. and Mrs. Morrey J. Kosak of 3273 Monterey were honored
at a dinner party given by the Smith Family Club to celebrate their
10th wedding anniversary, on June 6.
Mr. and ''Mrs. Ben Kah ten and family of 2292 LaBelle will be at
home to relatives and fri ends on Sunday, June 27, before leaving
Detroit to make their home in Los Angeles, No cards.
Dr. and Mrs. Noah E. Aronstam of Eason Ave., Highland Park,
celebrated their 49th we dding anniversary Sunday, June 20. A
group of their friends honored them with a party at their home that
evening.
Mrs. Asher Berlin is v acationing in New York City.
Mrs. Joseph H. Kunin had as her guests her daughter and son-
in-law of Los Angeles.
Dr. and Mrs. Albert E. Bernstein of 2400 W. Boston Blvd. are
spending a week in Chica go where they are attending the Amer-
ican Medical Association C onvention. They will return June 25.
Mr. and Mrs. Moe H. Goodman of 8905 LaSalle Blvd: were hosts
at as dinner party in honor of David Faytelwich, who recently arrived
from Rome, Italy.
Dr. Henry D. Kaine, son of Mrs.. Eva -Kaine and the late Louis
Kaine of Chicago Blvd. will begin his internship July 1 at the Los
Angeles General County Hospital. He was graduated June 17 from
Wayne University College of Medicine, where he was affiliated with
Phi Delta Epsilon fraternit y.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Potiker announce the graduation of their
son, Hughes Leonard, fro m Wayne University College of Liberal
Arts June 17.
Mrs. Yale Drazen (Syl via Wainer) and her two children, of St.
Louis, have been visiting in Detroit for the past three weeks.
Audrey Markel, daug hter of Mr. and Mrs. David Markel of
Prairie Ave. was honored at a bridal shower June 21 given by
Mesdames E. Schlussel, I. Gluklick and B. Madytn.
Visiting Detroit this week in honor of the Bar Mitzvah of Jordan
Pollack, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Pollack of Webb Ave., are Mr.
and Mrs. •'S. Blake, Mr. and Mrs. B. Krusch and Mrs. A. Frumkin of
Newark, N. J., and Mr. and Mrs. M. Lewis and Hyman Waxman of
Omaha, Neb.
Rhoda Galin, a student at UCLA, is spending her vacation with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albe
rt E. Garlin of Wisconsin Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell H. Emmer of Oakman Ct. entertained at
a family dinner in honor of the graduation of their daughter; Rose-
mary, from the Wayne University College of Liberal Arts.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Balantzow and children, Mr. and Mrs. H. H.
Levett, Mr. and Mrs. M. Schlachter, Mr. and Mrs. L. Simons, and
Mr. and Mrs. A. Schuldinger and their families have returned to their
homes in Detroit, after a visit to Cleveland to attend•the confirmation
of their granddaughter and niece. Barbara Balantzow, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Balantzow of Shaker Heights.
Marlene Spatt of 2947 Cortland will celebrate her 16th birthday
at a luncheon at the Stockholm June 26.
'Leaving this Friday for. Madison, Wis., where they will attend
the summer session at the University of Wisconsin are Mary Cooper,
Joan Field, Guida Garon, Rita Alper, Shirley Kallman and Shirlee
Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Egon Benesi and their small son of Washburn Ave.
left last week by motor for New York where they will visit with
members of their family.
Mr. and Mrs. Moe Leiter of Chicago Blvd. left on Monday for
Montreal where they will sp.end 10 days.

Paul Gold served as best man,
and the ushers were Jerry Sol-

Proceeds • of Zager Film
Benefit to be Used for
Equipment for Haganah

Three continuous film per-
forinances are scheduled for
Thursday evening, July 1, at the
Dox Theater, Livernois at Davi-
son, with all proceeds to be used
for purchase of hospital supplies'
and machinery for Haganah.
The theater party is being
sponsored by the Rabbi Mandel
M. Zager Lodge and Auxiliary of
Bnai Brith. The theater was do-
nated for the evening by Mr.
and Mrs. H. 0. Koch, the owners,
as were the services of the op-
erator, Homer Dillenbeck. Neith-
er the owners or operator are
Jewish.
Mrs. Irving 'Lipson is ticket
chairman for the chapter, and
Bill Stein for the lodge. In charge
of arrangements for the chapter
of , Mesdames Sidney Ersher,
Henry Schore and Marion Plot-
kin, and for the lodge Sidney Er-
sher and Herman Schneider.

dependence Day on Monday, July

5, as well as on Sunday, July 4„

The Folk Institute announces
the purchase of a large lot on
Dexter at Glendale, at which a
new educational center will be

for contributions for this center.
