hone town of Lunenetz near

Song to 'Israel'

State, has been issued as a re-
cording and is available this

nounce that proceeds from Al
Jolson's record, sold from June
11 to 30, will be given to the
Allied Jewish Campaign.

Hashofar, Society for Advance-
ment of Jewish Music, will hold
an open air musicale and its•
nual meeting at 8:30 p.m., Thurs-
day. June 17, at the Jewish Com-
munity Center.
Participants will be the Jewish
Folk Chorus, Henri Golberg, di-
rector; Shoshana Brook-Fried-
man, soprano, and Jules Yanover,
Detroit Symphony Orchestra, vio-
linist. Aliza Stulman will assist
at the piano. Refreshments will
be served.
Over 400 persons attended , the
last Hashofar musicale, at which
the- following compositions were
performed for the first time: Ma-
ria-Zucca's "Song of Ruth," dedi-
cated to and sung by Mrs. Abra-
ham Cooper; a string quartet by
Shalom Secunda, and "Song _sof
the Camel Driver," by Julius-
Chajes.
