A resident of Detroit since 1906 when he came from-Odessa, Russia, he was a custom tailor on Brush St. for many years and in recent years in the tailoring business on Jos. Campau. Dr. Billikopf Adds Tribute to Mr. Butzel Dr. Jacob Billikopf of Philadel- phia, in a letter to The Jewish News, pays tribute to the mem- ory of Fred M. Butzel. He writes: "I_ can't tell you how deeply shocked I was when I read that Fred Butzel passed away. He was indeed sui generis. .. Our friendship dated back to 1907 when both of us were involved not only in Jewish but also in non-Jewish causes and in social legislation."
