On May 30 at 7:30 p.m., in
the Brown Methorial Chapel of
Temple Beth El, Detroit Jewry
will commemorate the fifth an-
niversary of the Warsaw Ghetto
Uprising and pledge support to
the defense of the State of Israel.
The principal speaker of the
evening will be the well known
Jewish historian, Dr. Raphael
Mahler of New York, who recent-
ly returned from a visit to Pal-
estine and Europe.
Others on the program include
Tadeusz Frymar, Polish Consul,
Cantor J. H. Sonenklar of the
Shaarey Zedek who will chant
the "Haskarah" and render a
number of Palestinian songs and
a program of ghetto songs by
Sharith Hayleyta Club Chorus.

ty since 1921, Dr. Seltzer has, on
several occasions, been granted
leave from the University to lend
his experience - and advice in
economic fields to agencies of the
federal government. He was head
economist and assistant director
of research and statistics of the
United States treasury from 1934
to 1939, and still acts as treasury
consulting expert. He has also
served with the Labor Advisory
Board of the NRA, the National
Bureau of Economic Research
and federal agricultural institu-
tions.
He holds office in the Ameri-
can Finance Association, the Na-
tional Tax Association, the Am-
erican Economic Association and
the Tax Institute, Inc., and is tax
advisor to the National Bank of
Detroit.

dent of the Jewish Social Service
Bureau, a member of the Board
of Governors of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation, a member of the

Dr. Seltzer resides on Strat-
ford Rd. with his wife, a teacher
in a Detroit high school, his son,
Ronald, and his daughter, Ruth,
a student at the University of
Michigan.
The Faculty Service Award is
to be presented annually to a
Wayne faculty member "whose
professional or civic efforts have
brought about a greater apprecia-
tion of the University's place in
the community." - Dr. Seltzer was
selected by the '46 board upon
