Remember the "Alice in Won- derland" story, especially the lines that go "the time has come, the walrus said, to think of many things"? And after relating a. list, the verse ends with "cab- bages and kings"? How often do we think, really think, about the people around us, the cabbages, the kings? How often do we think about Lag b'Omer, the day on which, ac- cording to tradition, God sent manna from Heaven to the hun- gry Jews in the wilderness? How many of us think of the giving of the Ten Commandments, given at Mt. Sinai thousands of years , ago, which is commemorated by Shevuot? How many of us do something about having trees planted in Palestine on the day set aside for that purpose, Ham- isha Asar b'Shevat? How many of 'us think? Or are we influenced so greatly by advertisers of prOducts -whichl we buy and by advertisers of ideas and rumors, that our minds no longer function. It seems that generations be- fore us forgot to think, and, in- fluenced by the desire for more land and wealth, were driven to strife and war. We are now facing the point where the thinking process must begin again, if we are to survive total destruction by the very mechanisms man himself creat- ed. * * * '.;i111111111111111111111111111111inifilinififfilffl11111ifillifillinlIMIIIIMIIHHIMBIIIIIIIIIIMIIIMMUNIMMUMIHI1111111111111111111111111111 ,11111111111111111111111110 ISRAEL LIVES AGAIN! ter . ..
