The monument unveiling for
the late MR. AND MRS. M. KOFF-
IIIAN was conducted May 2 at
Machpelah Cemetery, with Eli
Sachse, nephew of the deceased,
officiating. The occasion was util-
ized tonraise funds for worthy
causes. Hazkarah donations yield-
ed $80, half of which was turned
over to Rodin Club for local char-
ities and the balance to M. Man-
uel Merzon, of the United Zion-
ists-Revisionists, for the Irgun.

will be featured by a March of
Time sound film entitled "Pales-
tine," together with two other
timely 'movie sound shorts. Re-
freshments and dancing will
round out the evening. The mo-
vies will start promptly at 9:30.

Home for Aged Auxiliary
23rd Anniversary May 17

The Women's Auxiliary, Jewish
Home for Aged, will hold its
monthly meeting on Monday,
May 17, at 1 p.m., in the Annex
of the Home, Burlingame and
Petoskey. Mrs. Samuel L. Weller,
president, will preside.
The Auxiliary was organized
23 years ago this month for the
purpose of bringing added com-
fort and happineSs to the aged
residents of the Home. To cele-

Henry Keywell, Leader in Orthodox
Circles, to Celebrate 60th Birthday

For 40 years, since his arrival
in Dertoit in 1908, Henry Keywell
has been an outstanding leader
in orthodox congregational circles
and in numerous community
movements.
When he celebrates his 60th
birthday, on Saturday, at a gath-
ering that will be limited to his
family, he will have the felicita-
tions of all Detroit Jewry.
Born on May 15, 1888, he came
to the United States in 1906 and
settled in Detroit two years later,
residing here uninterruptedly
during the past 40 years. He has
been i, the real estate manage-
ment business and among the
large projects he now manages
are the Barium Hotel, Metropoli-
tan Building, Donovan Building
and several other large real estate
parcels and hotels.
From 1921 to 1931 he was presi-
dent of Congregation Bnai David,
the present synagogue building
on 14th and Elmhurst having been
erected during, his presidency. He
is an honorary member of Con-
gregatiOn Shaarei Shomayim—an
honor .accorded him in recogni-
tion .of his having helped in the
congregation's reorganization and
in. paying off its mortgage. At
present he is a member of North-

He is a member of the Masonic

NEW YORK, (JTA) — Blood
donor banks for Palestine have
been opened by Hadassah in New
York, Philadelphia and Chicago.
Similar blood banks will be es-
tablished by the organization in
Boston, Los Angeles and San
Francisco shortly.
