Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Elbinger of London' Ave. are spending
a few days at the Stevens Hotel, Chicago.
In honor of the engagement of their daughter, Ruth, to Milton
L. Caplan, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Soifer of 2546 Glynn Court will
hold open house on Sunday, May 2, starting at 7 p. m. No cards.
Mr, and Mrs. Howard Perry Rothberg are visiting in New York
City for two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Kirstein.
Mrs. Selig Herbert Estroff (Joan Wilk) of Lakeland, Fla., is
Visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Wilk of Canterbury
Rd. and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. William M.
Harris of Hartwell Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kaichen of Huntington Woods have re-
turned from a few weeks' stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
Miss Sadie Hirschman of Glynn Ct. has returned from New
York, where she visited' with relatives and friends.
Miss Ruth Hershthan of New York is spending the holiday week
with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. A. M. Hershman of Calvert Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Robinson of Northlawn Ave. have returned
from a visit in Williamsburg, Va. While there they were joined by
Mrs. M. M. Wittelshofer of Boston Blvd. and her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mintz of Cambridge, Mass.
Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Sloman of Prairie Ave. left on Tuesday
on a motor tour to California.
Mrs. Irving L. Hirschman of Whitmore Rd. has left for Chicago,
where she will be the guest of her sister, Mrs. Nathan Sloss.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Solomon of Burlingame Ave. are spending a
fortnight in New York and Atlantic City. W'hile in the east they will
visit their children, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rothchild, Jr., and Mr.
and Mrs. Peter Martin.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Allen of Lincolnshire Dr. and Mr. and Mrs.
Nate Shapero of Strathcona Dr., are spending a number of weeks
traveling in Europe.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zuckerman of the Book Cadillac Hotel have
returned from a visit in California.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Winkelman of Fairfield Ave. are spending
the holiday week with her mother, Mrs. Henry Rosenblum of Glad-
stone, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Janeway of Canterbury Dr. returned on
Monday from a stay in Bermuda.
Mrs. Morris Rand of Highland Ave. is spending a short time in
Detroit before returning to California where she and Dr. Rand plan
to make their home.
Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Levin of Chicago spent the last week-end
as the guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Jackson of
Huntington Woods and Prof. and Mrs. Samuel M. Levin of Broad-
street Blvd.
Mrs. James Buhai of Chicago has been visiting her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John L. Brown of Strathcona Dr.
Mr .and Mrs. Alexander Freeman of Chicago Blvd. have re-
turned from an extended visit in California.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hamburger of Chicago Blvd. are spending
this week-end with their children, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Wolfson of
Shaker Heights, 0.
Mrs. Samuel B. Danto, president of the League of Jewish Wom-
en's Organizations, has returned from New York City, where she
attended a regional meeting of the National Bureau of Federated
Jewish Women's Groups. While in New York she also visited with
her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Coleman Danto.

posts of Detroit will open their
softball league Sunday, May 9.
Games will be played at Brady
and McKerrow schools. Eight
teams already are entered in the
league and others may join by
calling Sol Hoberman. Pfc. Jo-
seph L. Bale Post will enter two
teams. -Members of the post wish-
ing to try out are asked to report
to the McKerrow field at 10 a.m.

Sidney Huntman, chairmen of
the annual games party of BETH

that the affair will be held Thurs-
day, May 4, 8 p. m., in the syna-
gogue social hall, Wyoming at
Thatcher. There will be prizes
and refreshments. Tickets can be

Natalie Rosenthal, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Rosenthal of
W. Chicago Blvd., and Merrill
Arden, son of Mr. and Mrs.
James Arden of New York City,
were married Sunday, April 18,
at Temple Beth El.
Dr. B. Benedict Glazer officiat-
ed at the ceremony, which was
followed by a reception at Knoll-
wood Country Club.
For her wedding, the bride
wore a beige suit and matching
hat trimmed with violet velvet
and flowers. She carried a Bible
covered with white orchids. Her
matron of honor was Mrs. Harry
J. Modell.
George Arden, brother of the
bridegroom, was best man.
Out-of-town guests came from
California, Chicago, New York
and Washington.
After a month's honeymoon at
the National Hotel in Havana
and the Kiwama Club at Vera
Dero Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Arden
will be at home at 50 Park Ave.,
New York City.

Rabbi Mandel M. Zager chapter
of Bnai Brith Women will hold
election of officers May 5.
Fay Zager, outgoing president,

cooperation during her term of

NUREMBERG, (JTA)—About
900 European war criminals, of a
total of 3,470 brought to trial
since the war's end, have been
sentenced to death, it was re-
ported at the winding up of the
operations of the Allied War
Crimes Commission.
