For All Counselors

The Jewish Community Cen-
ter, cooperating with Jewish or-
ganizations and private camps in
the Detroit area, is sponsoring a
community-wide camping semi-
nar for counselors May 10, 17, and
24, and June 1.
The seminar will focus its at-
tention upon subjects of vital in-
terest to counselors, such as
"Why Camping?" --- a discussion
of objectives a n d program;
"Group Planning in Camp";
"Understanding the Individual
Camper"; "The Role of the Coun-
selor"; "Workshops in Arts and

UHS Alumni to Elect
Officers Next Monday

Annual :Kvutzati'PaiLier
Gathering Saturday Night

The annual Passover gathering
of Kvutzah Ivrith, Hebrew cul-
tural group of Detroit, will be
held Saturday evening in the au-
ditorium of the Rose Sittig Cohen
Building.
The theme for the discussion
will be, "Passover, the Feast of
Liberation and Its Present Sig-
nificance." Joseph Katz, president,
will preside. Refreshments will
be served by the Ladies' Auxili-
ary of the Kvutzah Ivrith, headed
by Mrs. Julius Ring. Community
singing will be under the direc-
tion of Abraham Schachter.

Monday evening, May 3, has
been set for the gathering of the
1923-36 Alumni members of the
United Hebrew Schools to be held
at the Rose Sittig Cohen Bldg.
At the last alumni reunion,
held on Purim, it was decided to
re-establish the alumni as a per-
manent organization.
At the May 3rd meeting, to
which graduates of the first 12
years have been invited, there
will be election of officers, ap-
pointment of committees and dis-
cussions of educational projects.
The nominating committee con-
sists of Max Chomsky, Ruben
Isaacs, Kalman Whitman, Her-
bert Fortgang and Esther Char-
nas.
