From Austrian Camp
VIENNA (JTA) — The Ameri-
can military commander in Aus-
tria has ordered the transfer of
450 displaced Jews from the New
Palestine camp at Salzburg to
other camps in the U. S. zone,
to provide additional quarters for
the families of American military
personnel on duty in Austria who
are now living in what the Army
terms inadequate quarters.
The Joint Distribution Com-
mittee and the Jewish chaplain
attached to the ti. S. command
in Austria and the Jewish Cen-
tral Committee are cooperating
with the Army in the transfer.
No objections have been raised
by either the DPs or Jewish vol-
