spring formal of the congrega-
tional high school age groups
this Saturday evening has been
changed to the Northwest Syna-
gogue, Curtis at Santa Rosa,
Charlotte Arkin announced this
week. Participating groupS are
from Temple Beth El, Temple
Israel, Shaarey Zedek, and
Northwest. Tommy Marvin and
his music will provide music for
dancing. All high school students
are invited.

YOUTH SPEAKS FORUM, to be
held in the social hall of Shaarey
Zedek at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20.
All high school students are in-
vited to attend the forum, partici-
pate in the open discussion which
will follow the debate, and take
part in the social hour of dancing
and refreshments planned by the
Shaarey Zedek Junior Congre-
gation.

Photography Contest

Harold Lax won first and
second prize in the photograph
contest sponsored by the Foca-
lites, it was announced by Benson
Leet, intermediate photography
club leader. Max won with two
of his portraits entitled, "Lanny
Boy and Marlene."
Third prize was awarded to
Robert Levinson for his picture,
"Self Portrait." Lax won third
prize in last month's contest
with his picture "Shadows."

MRS. EUGENE J. ARNFELD
the hustle and bustle that are
synonymous with any successful
drive.
From the very beginning of
the 1948 drive, Mrs. Arnfeld has
carried out her duties with me-
ticulousness and care. Now, with
the responsibility of handling
the more than 2000 prospect slips
in the special gifts section, she is
following through on the tedious
job of reports as they come in.
As the daughter of the Andrew
Winemans, Mrs. Arnfeld is proof
enough that "the apple does not
fall far from the tree." She has
worked for the Community Chest
for years and has been connect
ed with the Women's Division of
the Allied Jewish Campaign
since it was first organized.
At present, she is recording
secretary, as well as a member
of the board, of the Women's Di-
vision of the Jewish Welfare
Federation. Some of the other
organizations in which she is ac-
tive are the Council of Jewish
Women, the Sisterhood of Tem-
ple Beth El and the North End
Clinic.
Born in Detroit, this charming
and unaffected woman received
her schooling at Miss Newman's
School and at Kingswood School.
She has one daughter, Joanne.

The guest speaker at the 14th
annual donor dinner of HADAS-
SAH Chapters of Steubenville,
0., and Weirton, W. Va., held
April 7 at the Steubenville Ma-
sonic Temple, was Philip Slomo-
vitz of Detroit.
