Parent-Teachers
Groups Organize
In Hebrew Schools

Parent-Teachers groups were
organized in the following
branches of the United Hebrew
Schools:
Central Branch officers are:
Mesdames Rose G e r e n r aich,
president; Helen Cohen, treasur-
er; Frances Ellis, secretary; E.
Thav, corresponding secretary.
The next • meeting will be held
on Wednesday, April 14, 1 p.
in. the Rose Sittig Cohen Build-
ing.
Parkside Branch officers • are:
Mesdames Abe Katzman, presi-
dent; Louis Hyams, vice-presi-
dent; Harold Sher, secretary;
Henry Feinberg, treasurer. ..The
next meeting will be held Thurs-
day,..April 15, 8.:15 p. m., in the
Paukside Hebrew School.
Beth Aaron officers are: Mes-
dames Oscar Gorelick, president;
Max Reichman, vice-president;
M. Silverman, treasurer; Sam Bi-

colt, secretary. The next meet-
ing will be held Tuesday, April
20, 1 p. m., in the Beth Aaron
Congregation.
Bagley Branch officers are:
Mesdames Max Goldsmith, presi-
dent; Don Aidem, secretary; M.
Lax, treasurer.
David W. Simons officers are:
Mesdames Asher Buchhalter,
chairman; Ben Magid, secretary
and treasurer; Sam Edelman,
program chairman. The next
meeting will be on Wednesday,
in the David W. Simons School.
Programs at these meetings will
center around the Passover, the
demonstration of how to set the
Seder table, and an explanation
of the Seder symbols will be
given by members of the organ-
ization.
Moe Kesner, music instructor,
will teach Passover songs at all
the meetings. Passover ceremon-
ial objects will be displayed.

In 1947 the HIAS office in
Shanghai celebrated the termin-
ation of 30 years of activity in the
Far East. HIAS is supported by
the Allied Jewish Campaign.

Detroit's Oldest Jewish Restaurant

chairman of the Temple Israel
Religious School Board will dis-
cuss "Our Religious School and
the Home" at a meeting of the
Temple Israel Sisterhood at 1
p.m. Monday, April 12, at the De-
troit Institute of Arts.
Mrs. Dan Krouse is chairman
of the program, which will also
feature a play "To the American
People," to be presented by the
Temple Israel Players, under the
direction of Mrs. William P.
Greenberg. Charlotte Arkin,
president of the High School Stu-
dent Board of Governors, will
give the invocation.
Dessert luncheon will be serv-
ed preceding the meeting. Mrs.
Ellis Fishman and Mrs. Irving
.Wartell are in charge.
All members and friends are
invited to attend by Mrs. Samuel
Blacher, Sisterhood president.
