who recently returned frbm Eu-
rope where he served as Advisor

he inspected DP camps and liv-

63rd annual meeting of Hebrew
Sheltering and Immigrant Aid
Society (HIAS), Sunday.

MATTATHIAS TENT - HIVE,
the Maccabees, will meet Thurs-
day evening, March 25, at the
Workmen's Circle, Linwood and
Burlingame. This is the only all-
Jewish unit of Maccabees in the
mid west. All members are in .

Administration Regional office in
Minneapolis has been named di-
rector of research of a Wayne
University group therapy, pro-
ject, "The Use of the Group Me-

sistant sports editor of The De-
troit Collegian, student daily at
Wayne University.

M., of New Rochelle, N. Y., who
received her Bachelor of Music
degree at the New York Univer-
sity, and was the student of
Nicholae Nicholaeff, dean of St.
Petersberg conservatory' of Mu-
sic, Miss Goldstein, and Miss
Avis, of the Juliard Staff in New
York, after a successful career in
New York, now is associated with
the ALHAMBRA SCHOOL OF
MUSIC on Livernois, opposite the
U. of D., as piano instructor in
classical music.

Two members of HABONIM,
Milton Budoff of New York and
David Horowitz of Winnipeg, have
arrived at Beth Habonim in Kfar
Blum, the Habonim colony in
northern Galilee. They will be
trained for leadership in the
Zionist youth group and will re-
turn to this country in September
to assume responsible positions in
the movement.'

Program Announced
For VHS Auxiliary's
Purim Fete March 30

Because of conflicting local ac-
tivities, the quarterly program of
the Woman's Auxiliary of the
United Hebrew Schools, which_
was scheduled for March 31, will
be held on Tuesday, March 30, at
1 p. m., .at the Rose Sittig Cohen
Building.
The program will include Pur-
im playlets and songs by pupils
from the various branches of the
United Hebrew Schools. Mrs. B.
Kreichman's class of the Rose
Sittig Cohen Branch will stage a
play, "Purim's Children." Rich-
ard KomiSaruk of the same school
will play the piano. The pre-
school class of Mrs. Leah Isko-
witz of the David W. Simmons
School has prepared miniqUre
Purim playlets and songs. Fred
Branin 'of the Parkside School
will talk briefly about the laws
and customs of Purim. Mrs. Shan-
del Lieberman of the Bagley
School will give an original Pur-
im recitation, and Mrs. A. Roberg
of the same school will direct the
singing. Hannan Nove of the
Central Branch will chant por-
tions of the Megillalr. Sheilah
Pudovick of the David 'W. Sim-:
mons Branch will be chairman.
The program will be preceded
by a dessert luncheon. Everybody
is invited. There is no admission
charge.

Greater Detroit Bnai Brith
Council's annual spring festival
dance will feature Carmen Caval-
lero, "poet of the piano," and

ing at the State Fair Grounds,
Woodward and Eight Mile. Rd.

Molly Picon, star of stage,
screen and radio, will be the
featured artist on a program to
be given by the Sisterhood of the
Northwest Hebrew Congregation

synagogue. Miss Picon will be as-
sisted by her husband, a well-
known composer of Yiddish songs.
