N. W. Synagogue Purchases Cemetery

The Northwest Hebrew Congregation has completed the purchase
of the Mt. Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery at Six Mile and Middlebelt.
The Mtinorial Park covers 25 acres, with a chapel on the grounds.

served by. the Detroit Section,
National Council of Jewish
Women, Friday evening, March
19, at Shaarey Zedek. Rabbi .Mor-
ris Adler will dedicate his sermon
to Council.
This tradition was initiated in

'The annual laymen's service of
Temple Beth El will be .held at
8:15 p. m. Friday, March 19. Dr.
B. Benedict Glazer will preach a
Purim sermon on "Some Chal-
lenges of Jewish Life Today."
Arthur L. Goulson, president
of the Men's Club. Leon S. Way-
burn, immediate past president of
the club, and Walter. D. Schmier,
board meinber, will read the ser-
vice. The liturgical music will be
rendered by the Temple Quartet
under the direction of Jason H.
Tickton.
AN social hour, under the aus-
pices of the Sisterhood, will fol-
low the service.

A children's choir, composed
of pupils of the sixth grade of the
Religious School of Temple Is-
rael, will render a program of
ancient Purim melodies. At the .
social hour following the . services,
the Sisterhood will be hostess to
children and parent's at a. Purim
reception. -
The children of Temple Israel
will celebrate Purina by the tra-
ditional Purim plays and mas-
querade parties at the Religious
School next Saturday and Sun-
day morning. The -children will
appear in the costumes of charac-
ters of the Book of Esther. The
Sisterhood, will provide the Ha-
mantaschen "treat. •
The dramatic groups of the Re-
ligious School will present two
Purim plays, "Merry Purim" and
"Ring Around . Haman," under
the supervision of Mrs. William
P. Greenberg, - director of youth
ctivities of Temple Israel. In the
cast of "Merry Purim," directed •

project to establish a scholarship
