MRS. PHILIP KANTER
any job well, Mrs. Kanter has
spent every Friday since the, end
of October working in the Wo-
men's Division office. Her con-
stant attendance serves as an in-
spiration to others to give of their
time also. . I.
Although Mrs. Kanter's devo-
tion to the job at hand keeps her
steadily and seriously at work
in the office, she sheds this "Fri-
day personality" for gaiety and
graciousness in her social life.
An invitation to her home is an
invitation to share the warmth
and welcome of an unusually
popular hostess.
Besides offering her services
to the Allied Jewish Campaign
and to the year-round work of the
Women's Division, she is also
active in Hadassah and the Com-
munity Fund and a member of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
Born in Omer, Mich:, Mrs. Kan-
ter came to Detroit with her par-
ents, the Jacob Blumbergs, when
she was 10 years old. She attend-
ed the Garfield School here and
graduated from Central High
School, the same school where
her son, Gerald Alan, 17, is now
in his last year.

In The Women's
Division Spotlight:
A true devotee to duty, Mrs.
Philip Kanter possesses the facul-
ty of sticking to a job until it is
completed. Once she has under-
taken an assignment, she always
carries it through. Scoffing at the
idea that she is outstanding in any
respect, she feels that she should
not be praised for her depend-
ability.
As chairman of the office com-
mittee for the Women's Division
of the Jewish Welfare Federation
and the Allied Jewish Campaign,
Mrs. Kanter has proved herself
extremely adept at securing vol-

proved a great asset to the business — for all through the
years she was at her husband's side assisting him. Upon the
death of Harry, nearly three years ago, his wife, Lillian, in-
