Service Divisions Chart 1948 Campaign Structure

Women to Begin Solicitation
At Curtain Raiser March 10

Nearly 2,000 Detroit Jewish women are expected to attend
the Campaign Curtain Raiser of the Women's Division of the
Allied Jewish Campaign at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, in
the Brown Memorial Chapel of Temple Beth El, when Frank
Gervasi7- Collier's Magazine's "Roving Foreign Correspond-
ent," will be guest speaker. O

The meeting will signal the
opening of the drive under the
chairmanship of Mrs. Joseph H.
Ehrlich and Mrs. Henry Wine-
man, in which the Woment Di-
vision will aim for the greatest
effort in its history—in support
of the three-dimensional program
of the United Jewish Appeal and
56 other overseas, national and
lOcal institutions and agencies.

Haifa Chapter Gives
Early Contribution

In response to the immediate
need for cash support to aid
the Jews of Palestine, a dele-
gation from the Haifa Chapter
of the • Detroit Zionist District
turned over its 1948 contribu-
tion of $500 to the Allied Jew-
ish Campaign this week, in
advance of solicitation by the
Organizations' division of the
Campaign.
Included in the delegation
from the Chapter were Sidney
Brand, fund-raising co-chair-
man, Sidney Miskin, Leonard
Perlman, Leonard Radner,
Mrs. Ben Weiss and Mrs.
Arnold Zalenko. Dr. Louis
Kazdan is president of the
group.

ence and insight for a sympathe-
tic analysis of the conflict between

Through the Allied Campaign,
Detroit Jewish women - will sup-
port the United Palestine Appeal
program to make possible the im-
migration of at least 75,000 Euro-
pean Jews into Palestine this
year; the Joint Distribution Corn-
mittee's relief and rehabilitation
program in Europe; the United
Service for New Americans, pro-
viding for the adjustment of new
arrivals in this country; the Joint
Defense Appeal, for the civic pro-
tective work of the Anti-Defama-
tion . League and the American
Jewish Committee, and such local
institutions as the Jewish Home
for Aged, Jewish Community
Council and Jewish Vocational
Service.
All Detroit Jewish women are
invited • to attend.

Women to Learn Good
Solicitation Techniques

Allied Jewish -Campaign have or-
ganized programs to be presented
to workers at a series of dessert
luncheons being held in the 'gen-
eral solicitation and special gifts
divisions March 1 to 17. The pur
pose of these meetings is to dem-
onstrate good solicitation 'tech-
niques.

Hattie Gittleman is chairman of the
first team and Mrs. Robert J. New-
man will be the speaker. Completing
the panel are Mrs. Louis Glasier and
Mrs. Harold Frank. Pearl Devenow
serves as chairman of the second
team with Mrs. Morris Adler as
speaker. Completing the panel pre
Mrs. I. Irving Bittker and Mrs. Wiliam'
B. Gazer. Serving as chairman of the
fourth team is Mrs. Leonard H
Weiner. The speaker will be Mrs.
Julian Tobias. Completing this panel
are Mrs.. Jerome Grossman and Mrs.
Nathan Spcvakow.
Mrs. Julian H. Krolik is chairman
of the fifth team and Mrs. Sidney J.
Allen will be speaker. Completing the
panel are Mrs. Joseph Falk and Mrs.
Adolph Ehrlich. Mrs. Matfrice Klein
serves as chairman of the sixth team
and Mrs Harry Landsman will be the
speaker. Completing the panel are
Mrs. Maurice A. Landau and Mrs. Max
Dushkin.
Mrs. 'Harry L. Jones is chairman of
the seventh team and Mrs. Louis Zlat-
kin will be the speaker. Completing
the panel are Mrs. William B. Isen-
berg and Mrs. Albert Silber.
