In an effort to establish better
community relations between
members of all veterans and pa-
triotic organizations, the Jewish
War Veterans Department of
Michigan Ladies Auxiliary will
sponsor a dessert luncheon March
22 at Kern's auditorium.
Initial plans were made at It
meeting held at the home of Mrs.
Arlene Rhodes, co-chairman, last
Saturday. Assisting Mrs. Rhodes
on the luncheon committee are:

ment president; Mrs. Rose Cow-

Her impressive bearing, vital per-
sonality and organizational abili-
ty all combine to belie this nick-
name completely,
As vice chairman of general
solicitation in the Women's Di-
vision of the 1948 Allied Jewish
Campaign for the second year,
Mrs. Rothman will be in charge
of seeing that all the volunteer
workers are informed and well
trained as to their. duties. She is
also a member of the campaign
executive committee and is on
the board of the year-round Wo-
men's Division of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation.
A charming hostess, Mrs. Roth-
man displayed her gracious man-
ner when she undertook- the plan-
ning of several of the social
events for the Phi Delta Epsilon
Medical Fraternity, when it held
its three-day convention here last
year.
Coming to the active assistance
of her country during _ the war
emergency, Mrs. Rothman served
as supervisor of volunteer place-
ment in the Office 'of Civilian De-
fense. Using the trained organi-
zational ability she acquired as
a major in economics and a stu-
dent of secretarial science at Sim-
mons College in Boston,this "dol-
lar-a-year" woman gave of her
time and ability for two years.
She serves now on the board of
the American JeWish Congress.
Born in Sebewaing, Michigan,
Mrs. Rothman has lived in De-
troit for the past 29 years. She
is the mother of two children.
Her daughter, Joan, recently be-
came the bride of Seymour Gold-
man, and her son, .William, is a
student at the University of Mich-
igan. She is a member of Temple
Beth El.
