Jewish State Would Buy
$70,000,000 of U. S. Goods
NEW YORK, (JTA) — The
formation of a Chamber of Com-
merce in the U. S. for Palestine
is urged in a report published by
the United Palestine Appeal es-
tablishing that "Jewish Pales-
tine and the United States can
form a reciprocal trade partner-
ship in which the Jewish state
would purchase at least $50,000,-
000 to $70,000,000 annually of
American goods."

"disc jockey" for a program of
Jewish records.

Pasadena, at 8:30 p. m., Thurs-
day, March 11. The purpose of
this meeting will be to elect of-
ficers for 1948. It wil be open to

Wednesday in the main lounge
of Hillel House. Thursday, March
11, a film program will be pre-
sented at 2 p.m. in the lounge.

Zionist ' Institute. Singing and
dancing will follow the resume
of camp activities> Plans are
being made fob a membership
drive for Habonim, with 50 mem-
bers planning to leave for Pales-
tine or for Hachshara within the
next few weeks. Inspired by
Golda Meyerson's plea for funds
for Haganah, Habonim members
have resolved to discontinue their
practice of post-meeting restau-
rant snacks and to contribute the
sum that would have been spent
to Haganah.

Leroy Foster, young artist and
art instructor, will lead a discus-
sion on "Can Toddy's Art Be
Understood?" at the YOUTH
BRANCH of the WORKMEN'S
CIRCLE, at 8 p. in. Friday,
March 5. Past instructor at Cass
Technical High and the Society
of Arts and Crafts. he is now
leading the Pen and Pallette Art
Club. At the largest Michigan
Artists Exhibtiion last fall, he
polled first prize in the popu-
larity contest. The discussion

Educators See Identity
In Judaism, Zionism

NEW YORK—At the two-day
conference of the education de-
part/lent of the Zionist Organiza-
tion of America, held at :Congre-
gation Bnai Jeshurun, a distin-
guished group of educators, rab-
bis and scholars was in substan-
tial agreement that Judaism and
Zionism had a basic identity, and
that there is a : mutual relation-
ship between Diaspora Jewry
"with a culturally creative Jew-
ish life fully possible in the
United States."
The conference, embracing four
sessions and devoted to the
theme, "Reorienting Zionist Edu-
cation Today," was highlighted
by the addresses of Dr. Emanuel
Neumann, president of the ZOA.
Carl Alpert, ZOA director of edu-
cation, Dr. Simon Halken, Men-
achem Boraisha and Dr. Robert
Gordis.
