than in previous years, and rep-
resentatives of the insurance pro-
fession of the Services Division
have already begun to chart plans
for the drive.
Under the guidance of Maurice
Klein, Philip Kanter, • Rudolph
Leitman and David Nusheno, the
group met for luncheon at the
Standard Club Feb. 11, to discuss
methods of procedure and or-
ganization.
In the 1947 campaign, Butzel
and Dr. Lakoff were chairmen of
the attorneys' and physicians' sec-
tions, respectively, and both
groups excelled previous cam-
paign records.
The group selected Sidney
Alexander, Sam Be; William
Friedman, Dr. A. S. Pearlman,
Arthur S. Purdy and. Morris Suss-
man to serve on the "cabinet"
representing the Professional Di-
vision.

cussed the organization of this
year's drive and made plans to

Golda Meyerson to Confer
With Federation Leaders .

Golda Meyerson, head of the political department of
the Jewish Agency for Palestine, will be in Detroit Wed-
nesday evening, Feb. 18. to confer with the Board of
Governors of the Jewish Welfare Federation and Allied
Jewish Campaign leaders on the Palestinian situation
and its implications for Detroit Jewry, Julian H. Krolik,
president of the Federation, announced.
"Mrs. IVIeyersori has only recently come out of the
thick of the struggle in Palestine," Krolik said, "and she
has a message of vital importance to -us. She will not be
coming to Detroit to make a formal address; she is corn- .
ing to have a heart to ,heart talk with our responsible
Jewish leadership on problems that concern us mu-
tually."
The Feb. 18 meeting will follow up a special tele-
phone conference, held Feb: 10, amplified for members
of the Federation Board and the Board of Directors of
th Detroit Service Group. Participating in the confer-
ence from New York were Mrs. Meyerson, Governor
Herbert Lehman, Stanley C. Myers, president of the
Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, and
Henry Morgenthau, Jr.

A veteran campaigner in the
Allied Jewish Campaign and the
Community Chest, Schreiber re-
sponded to the request of a spe-
cial Division committee to take
the top post in the 1948 drive.
Broder, like Schreiber in the
amusement section, is the divis-
ion's representative to the board
of governors of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation. Leon S. Way-
burn, advertising section, is year-
round chairman of the division
and was 1947 campaign chairman.

Nate Shapero Named
On FDR Commission

Nate S. Shapero, president of
Cunningham Drugs, was named
an honorary member to repre-
sent Michigan on. the Franklin
D. Roosevelt Warm Springs Mem-
orial Commission, it was an-
nounced in Lansing on Monday
by Governor Kim Sigler.. Mr.
Shapero, a former member of
the Crippled Children's Commis
sion, was named by Gov. Sigler
at the invitation of Gov. M. E.
Thompson of Georgia.
