Arms Must Come

(Continued from Page 1)
"We must ask Jews the world
over to see us at the front line
and do for us what the United
States did for England when
England was at the front line in
the war. We ask only to be giv-
en a chance to go with the
struggle.
"A month from now is too
late. The millions or billions
we might get in four months
means very little. What we can
get immediately counts — not
next month, but now, so we can
hold out."
Reporting that 300 Jews had
died fighting thus far, she said
that "there will be more, but
there is no doubt that the spirit
of our young people is such that
no matter how many Arabs come
into the country, we'll win. There
isn't . a Jew in the country who
doesn't believe that in the end
we'll be victorious. If we have
something to fight with, we'll fight
with that. If we don't, we'll fight
with stones."
She told of 35 young people,
every one of whom was killed,
who set out on foot to rescue a
Jewish settlement besieged by
Arabs. According to one Arab,
the last Jew in the group died

with a stone in his hand. She
asked:
"Is it possible that the young-
sters who are in the front lines
will have to fail because money
that should have reached Pales-
tine today will reach it in two
months?"
The young Jews, Mrs. Myerson
asserted, "didn't demand salaries,
while the Arabs have to pay sal-
aries to their snipers daily."
Problems affecting American
Jewish communities are on the
agenda of the CFWF conference.
Dr. John Slaw on, executive
vice-president of the American
Jewish Committee, told the con-
ference that while anti-Semitism
is at a low ebb in this country,
it is increasing. in England.
