Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kramer of Webb Ave. are spending the
winter months in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Frank of Woodingham Rd. had as their
guests last week, on the occasion of the Bar Mitzvah of their son,
Richard, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Selker of Cleveland, and
her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Selker, also of
Cleveland.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Briskman of W. Boston Blvd. left on
Sunday to spend a few weeks in Miami Beach, Fla.
Among the many parties given in honor of Ardis Franzblau,
whose marriage to Frederick Birndorf was an event of last Tuesday,
was the luncheon at the Statler Terrace Room on Oct. 17 given by

Mrs. Ben LaBret, Mrs. Sa
on Oct. 29, the luncheon given by Mrs. Milton Miller in her home
in Ohio Ave. In November there was the luncheon and shower on
the 15th given by Mrs. Leonard Birndorf, Mrs. Daniel Weinbaum
and Mrs. Myer Pilnick, and on the 29th the Mesdames, Irving Wartell,
Paul Tilds and Herman Franzblau were hostesses at a luncheon at
the Book Cadillac. In December, Mr. and Mrs. John Erwin were
hosts - at a dinner in their home in Monterey Ave. On the 6th, there
was a luncheon and a record and book shower at the Book Cadillac
at which Toby Langer and Mrs. Jarvis Franzblau were hostesses,
and the same evening Dr. and Mrs. Samuel C. Silver, Dr. and Mrs.
Thomas Marwil, Dr. and Mrs. Jack Ecker, and Mr. and Mrs. George
Bremen were hosts at a dinner in the Silver home on Oakman Ct.
On the 10th Mrs. Ralph Webber and Mrs. Julian Webber gave a
luncheon in the former's home. in Woodingham Dr. Mrs. David
Seligson had a luncheon in her home in Ilene Ave. on the 12th; the
next day Mrs. Louis Glazier's luncheon was at the Women's City
Club. The City Club was also chosen by Mrs. Samuel Blacher and
Mrs. Casper C. Cutler for their luncheon on the 16th; the next noon
Mrs. Harry Robbins and Mrs. Milton Maddin entertained jointly at
the latter's home in Broadstreet Blvd. Mrs. Eugene Fisher gave a
luncheon at her home in LaSalle Blvd. on the. 22nd and the next

Mrs. Herman Holinstat. Miss Ruth Cantor was hostess at a cocktail
party in her home on the 25th, and on the 27th Mrs. Ellis Fishman

Book Cadillac. January finished off the round of parties with a
luncheon given by Elaine Siden on the 2nd at the Statler Terrace •
Room, a luncheon given by Mrs. Joseph Fenton at the Women's City
Club on the 3rd and the spinster dinner given by Mrs. Marvin Wein-
stein in her home in Hubbel Ave. on the 7Th.

"Sabbath Eve," a play written
for the Women's Auxiliary of the
JEWISH HOME FOR THE AGED
was presented before the resi-
dents of the Home Jan. 8. Written
by Mrs. Harry Landsman and
enacted by Mesdames William
Gottesman, Landsman and Mey-
er Silverman, the play describes
the contrast in life in the resident
who participates cheerfully in
the Home's program and the un-
happy resident who spends her
last years brooding because she
cannot be with her children. Rab-
bi Max J. Wohlgelernter deliv-
ered a guest sermon to residents
of the Home.

the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Smith, 3039 Gladstone, Dec. 28.
The members planted trees in
memory of their cousin, Max
Radin, who died last month.

MATTATHIAS TENT-HIVE of
the Maccabees is holding a social
evening at 8:30 p. m. Thursday,
