Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,
at the Bock Cadillac Hotel. This
event has been arranged by the
educational committee under the
chairmanship of Mrs. Harry A.
Paysner.
Mrs Ezra Shapiro, president
of the Central States Region, will
speak at the morning session.
Rabbi Jacob Segal, Mrs. Morris
Adler and Mrs. Benjamin Glass--
ber will speak at the afternoon
session.
At the morning session, at
10:30, various phases of Hadas-
sah's technique for education and
the handling and presentation of
source material will be illustrat-
ed. A workshop on education will
follow.
A feature at this institute will
be an exhibit of products hand
made and manufactured in Pal-•
cstine There also will be a book
, exhibit on subjects relating to
Hadassah and Zionism, and books
may be purchased and ordered.

T.O.T. CLUB the following new
officers were elected: President,

son. The club also voted to send
a considerable sum of money to
Haganah for defense of Palestine.

will address the TIKVAH LODGE
of Bnai Brith at an open meet-
ing at 8:30 p. in. Thursday, Jan.
15, at the Northwest Hebrew
Cong. His topic will be "Uncle
Sam—Umpire," a discussion of
the Taft-Hartley bill. On Feb. 3,
Circuit Judge Robert M. Toms
will adress the lodge on his ex-
periences at the Nurenberg trials.

The annual mid-season banquet
of the COSMOPOLITAN BNAI
BRITH BOWLING LEAGUE will
be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at
the Penobscot Club. Mickey
Woolf and his orchestra will en-
tertain. Al Sklare is chairman
of the event. Guests for the eve-
ning will include Maurice Naren-
berg and Herman Zimmerman,
executive secretary and treasur-
er of the National Bnai Brith

Raise $408 for JNF at
M. H. Mellin Pidyon HaBen

The sum of $408 was contrib-
uted to the Jewish National Fund
in honor of Martin Harold Mellin,
infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton
Mellin of 13708 LaSalle, at the
baby's Pidyon HaBen held on
Sunday.
• The appeal was made by Emil
Kahan of 2210 Pingree, president
of Congregation Beth Moses, who
was the Kohen at the Pidyon
HaBen, and who started the fund
with his contribution. The $408,
which was donated by relatives
and friends of the Mellins, was
turned over to the Ladies' Auxil-
iary of the JNF.

which he will deliver several ad-
dresses on the general theme,
"Jewish Way of Life." The first
of the lectures, on the subject
"What Is Judaism?" will be de-
livered at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan.

The talk is sponsored by the
Joint Yiddish Culture Commit-
tee of the Jewish Center and the
Jewish Community Council. 1.
Zeme and Jay Rosenshine are

Later in the week Dr. Menes
will speak on "What Is Jewish-
ness?", "The Life of the Jews,"
