Nobel to give Second
Lecture on Ra-Ma-Hal

Luzzatto, known as RaMaHal,
of lectures on Moses Hayim Luz- died in 1747, and his 200th ani-

versary is now being observed
throughout the world.
In the first lecture, Nobel
dwelled mainly on the period in
which RaMaHal lived. In Satur-
day's lecture, his talk will be
centered around his philosophic
works, dramatic writings and his

poems. Luzzatto was a cabalist,
poet and dramatist.
Among his knoWn dramas are:
"Samson," "Migdal Oz," and
"Layeshorim Tehilah." His most
popular book is the "Mesilath
Yshorina" a survey of religious
ethics.

building in Rishon-le-Zion are
coming in from organizations and
individuals in partial fulfillment
of this year's $78,000 quota of
this year for child rescue, building
fund and general activities of
the Moatzoth Hapoaloth.

Shekel Day of ZOD

Will Speak Jan. 12

The largest ZOA sale of Sheko-
lim is sought during January, ac-
cording to Harold a Weisman,
chairman of the General Zionist
Shekel Campaign in Detroit.
Preparations are in progress for
Shekel-Day, to be held Sunday,
Jan. 11.
A breakfast will be held at the
Rose Sittig Cohn auditorium and
from there the workers will set
out to canvass Jewish homes.
Charles Wolok, treasurer of the
ZOD, has offered a Parker 51 pen
and pencil set as a prize for the
person selling most shekolim for
the Detroit Zionist District.
Young Zionists who volunteer
in this project and sell a mini-
mum of 10 shekolim will be guests
at a dance on the evening of She-
kel Day. The deadline for the sale
of Shekolim is Jan. 15.
Torczyner Here Jan. 12
Jacques Torczyner, member of
one of the most distinguished fam-
ilies in pre-war Europe, will
speak here for ZOD on Jan. 12 at
Northwest Synagogue.
He is a member of the National
Executive of the Zionist Organi-
zation of America and of the ZOA
Inner Committee.
