The LADIES AUXILIARY of
KVUTZAH IVRIT has elected the
following officers: Mesdames Jul-
ius Ring, president; Rubin Bag-
gleman and M. Rappoport, vice
presidents; William Schneider,
treasurer; Jacob Winokur, B.
Stein and A. Selesny, secretar-
ies; I. Twersky, and D. Garber,
hospitality, and M. Ferretter, pub-
licity. The group will meet Tues-
day, Dec. 23 ,at the home of Mrs.
Winokur, 3002 Tuxedo. A donor
luncheon is being planned for
Feb. 24 at Shaarey Zedek.

men's chapter at a latke party and
variety show. Guest speakers
were Rabbi Irwin Gordon _ of the
Wayne Hillel Foundation and Mr.
and Mrs. Moe R. Miller, presi-
dents of the men's and women's
lodges. A special meeting has
been called for 8:30 p. m. Mon-
day, Dec. 29, at the Rose Sitting.

to bring in all ad and ticket mon-

chairman of PISGAH WOMEN
OF BNAI BRITH, announces that
Laurentine B. Collins, of the De-
troit Board of Education will

Community" at 9 p. m. Monday,

port on Anti-Defamation will be
given by Mrs. Allan Laban, chair-

ceeds of a donor luncheon„

Plaza.

A marionette performance of
"Alice in Wonderland" will be
given under the auspices of the
SOCIAL LEGISLATION COM-
MITTEE at the Detroit Institute
of Arts Lecture Hall at 3 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 27. There will be
an admission charge of 65 cents,
and proceeds of the performance
will be turned over to the Pales-
tine Child Rescue Fund. Tickets
may be obtained by calling com-
mittee chairman Freda Handel-
man, UN. 1-4054.

PRIMROSE BENEVOLENT
CLUB sponsored a Thanksgiving
party for the Jewish patients at
Eloise Hospital. Rabbi Wohlgel-
arnter conducted services, refresh-
ments were served and gifts dis-

man, Ann Cowan, Mary Dean and
Lily Burstein.

Reserve Brigadier General
Corps
WASHINGTON (JTA)—Morris
C. Troper, long active in JDC
affairs, has been nominated by
President Truman as Brigadier
General in the Officers Reserve
Corps. Col. Troper distinguished
himself during the last war. His
nomination has been sent to the
Senate for consideration.

Harry Katz, Center adult edu-
cation Director, announces that
the second semester of the CEN-
TER ART SCHOOL will start
Jan. 4. Leon Makielski and Hen-
ry Bernstein, will continue as in-
structors.
The class schedules are as fol-
lows: Advanced class, 10:30 a.m.,
Sunday; elementary class, 1:30
p.m., Sunday; advanced class,
7:30 p.m., Tuesday; and elemen-
tary class, 4 p.m., Tuesday.
Students may register either
for a full session or on a monthly
basis.
Yehuda Rosenman, young adult
director, announces that registra-
tions for the second series of
BALLROOM DANCING CLASS-
ES will start Jan. 12. Herman
Harrison, popular local ballroom
dancing instructor will continue
teaching the center classes in fox-
trot, waltz, samba, rhumba and
tango. The classes are designed
for both beginners and advanced
students. Those interested are in-
vited to leave their names at the
main desk.

Plans for a $13,600,000 welfare
program in 1948 to speed the
adjustment of survivors of Nazi

Service for New Americans at
