AN URGENT CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
SOS DAY WAS AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS
IN DETROIT
BUT the Job Is Only HALF DONE
Four box cars- of Supplies for Overseas Survivors have
to be packed for shipment.
Anyone who can give time for packing -'and 'Processing
these SOS materials is urgently requested
• to call Morris Miller at TEmple 1-1600, or
• to report Sunday, Dec. 14, after 10 a. m., to the
Acme Terminal Warehouse, 6441 Hastings—any
time you can give will help.
There will be work all day Sunday, until the job is done.
SOS Committee of Detroit
history; for the nearly 1,500 men, women and young people
who defied the weather to collect nearly a half million pounds
of desperately-needed supplies for overseas survivors; and
for the hundreds of Jewish fam-
ilies who painstakingly packed
canned food, warm clothing, lay-
ettes, toys and medical items.
Despite this tremendous job, the
SOS drive has not been completed
in Detroit, Mandell Berman, SOS
campaign director, stressed Mon-
day, in an urgent call for volun-
teers to help pack the remaining
supplies, now stored at Acme
Terminal Warehouse, 6441 Hast-
ings. Anyone who can give time
to the packing is asked to call
Morris Miller at TEmple 1-1600 or
tdreport to the warehouse after
10 a. m. Sunday.
To reach contributions which
were missed last week, the SOS
h
volunteers will make another col-
lection this Sunday.
Although one box car of Detroit
SOS supplies is already on the
way to New York, nearly 400,000
pounds of vital materials still
await processing and • packing,
Berman emphasized. "We of De-
troit do not want to leave a job
half done," he declared.
"The SOS Committee owes ap-
preciation to a great many people
for the truly remarkable coopera-
tion we have received," Berman
added, "but we want to save the
expression of these thanks until
after the job is really completed,-
until those supplies are actually
on their way overseas."

• You HAVE said it, haven't
you? The night before washday?
Yes, and meant it, too, because
there's nothing worse than to
have to let dirty clothes pile up
while you wait for nice weather.
When you have a Hamilton
Automatic Clothes Dryer, you
just flip the switch, toss in your
clothes straight from wringer or
spinner and, in 15 to 25 minutes,
they're ready to iron! Things dry
soft, sweet-smelling, and fluffy in
the Hamilton, too, an average
washerload at a time. Rain?

THE COUNCIL OF 'MOTHERS'
CLUBS announces the formation
of a new group, the PASEDENA
J. Parker Sage. All four have
been identified with anti-Semitic
propaganda and anti-Jewish or-
