Jewish Art Objects Displayed

Institute Honors Martyr

Men's Clubs

- Dedication of the Sereni Institute, a study and research center
that will serve the entire southern part of Palestine including the
Negev, took place at Givat Brenner
Thursday, Nov. 27, the third anniver-
sary _of the death of Enzo Sereni, Pal-
estine parachute hero for whom the
Institute is named. Leaders of the
Yishuv and the Histadtut participated
in the ceremony.
Enzo Sereni, first Italian Jew to
become a Halutz, and founder of the
collective settlement Givat Brenner, led
die Jewish volunteer parachutists into
NTazi-held Europe during-the war. He
was among the seven who died on this
:Taring mission to help the Allies and
rescue Jews.
The Institute will contain special
libraries preserving the finest of Euro-
pean Jewish cuicure, a nature study section devoted to southern
Palestine, and memorials to the parachutists.
