Junior Hadassah and Masada's
"November Hop," scheduled for
this Saturday evening at the Old
Colony Club, Park and Mont-
calm, will aid Detroit's contribu-
tion to the national Zionist youth
projects in Palestine, as well as
provide entertainment for young
Zionists of the city.
-Dancing, to the music of Jackie
Laine and his orchestra, will be-
gin at 9:30 p. ni Tickets are
priced at $3. per couple.
A "member -bring- a- member"
tea will be sponsored by Jr. Had-
assah at 2 p. m. Sunday, Nov. 16,
at the home of Mrs. M, Cowan,
2262 W. Chicago Blvd. The tea
will serve to introduce prospec-
tive members to the organization.
Rabbi Morris Amer will dis-
cuss "The Impact of Anti-Semit-
ism on Zionism" at a joint meet-
ing of the two groups at 8:30 p. rn.
'aiursday, Nov. 20 at Shaarey
Zedek. Following Rabbi Adler's
talk,..there will be dancing to the
music of Sy Subar's seven-piece
orchestra. All young people of
the community are invited.
Selfhelp to Hold
Bazaar, Dance
Tomorrow Night
The Selfhelp of Emigres from
Central Europe will hold a
bazaar and dance tomorrow at
8:30 p.m. at the Ft. Wayne Hotel,
Cass and Temple, which promises
to be an outstanding social event.
Mickey Woolf's famous dance or-
chestra will supply the rhythms,
lid a novelty, "Live Marionettes"
will b.2 one of the sensations of
the evening. Hanukah gifts for
those who wish them may be
purchased at the bazaar.
All of the. proceeds are destined
for the aid of displaced persons
in Europe as well as an emerg-
ency fund to be set up in Detroit
for new immigrants.
Mrs. John J. Leopold is chair-
man of the affair.

Sunday, *Nov. 2, at the Wilshire
Hotel, Marylin Friedman, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fried-
man, and Seymour Wohlman, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Wohlman,
were united in marriage.
The bride wore ah off-the-
shoulder fitted gown of white
satin. Her fingertip veil of illu-
sion was caught to a satin coronet
and bound in satin. She carried
white orchids on a Bible.
, Her attendants were Dolores
Schreibman, maid-of-honor, and
Shirley Wohlman and Bernice
Adler, bridesmaids. Morton Wohl-
man and Arthur Silverstein were
ushers, and Robert Wohlman
served his brother as best man.
The ceremony was followed by
dinner and a reception.

get advisory board of the Ameri-
can Fund for Palestinian Institu-
tions approved a 1948 budget of
$1,200,000 at a three-day meeting
here. Francis Stern, of Hartford,
Conn., and Rabbi Isidore Breslau
were named co-chairmen of the
board.

Adult Council is being prepared
for the council's constitutional
convention to be held Sunday
afternoon, Nov. 23, at the Jewish
Community Center, Sol J.
Schwartz, chairman of the con-
stitution committee, announces.
Three delegateS from each or-
ganization planning to affiliate
with the Council are invited to
attend the sessions, Schwartz
said. Registration of delegates
will begin at 1 p.m., after which
delegates will be divided into
committees to consider individual
divisions in the constitution. The
plenary session for final discus-
sion and ratification will com-
plete the afternoon's program,
which is scheduled to close at
4:30.
