more than a thousand patrons,
jammed the hotVg three main

Morris M. Jacobs, president of
the ZOD, greeted the guests
through a statement in the Ball
program.
"As we gather in attending the
15th annual Balfour Ballr Jacobs
declared; "we celebrate the 30th
anniversary of the Balfour
Declaration, and for the first time
we glimpse the proposed Jewish
state about to become a reality.
The past 30 years have seen mil-
lions of our people ruthlessly
slaughtered, and the - territory
promised the Jewish people whit-
tled away until, today, with
heavy hearts, we accept the parti-
tion of Palestine.
"Let us not relax our vigilance
or our efforts until a Jewish State
is brought into being and the
solution of our problems is finally
in our own hands!"
