Oanto's Woodcuts on Display at Cyril's Gallery

Arthur Danto,_
on view this week a Cyril's Gallery, is one of those fortunate people
whose endowment of a talent complements his major life work—
the study of History and Philosophy. Part of the collection of wood-
cuts covers, in series form, the story of Joseph and the story of
Zarathustra. These intelligent, emotionally potent prints, give some
hint of the depth of Mr. Danto's feelings about the culture, litera-
ture and history of our past.
Mr. Danto is one of the lucky people who realizes his abilities
and cultivates it successfully as an avocation. This returns me to
my original theme again: that you don't have to follow art brofes-
aionally in order to do a fine creative piece of work.
