Final plans for the Jewish Hospital of Detroit have been
completed and are being made ready for presentation to the
contributing public, according to information received this
week from the board o_f directors of the Jewish Hospital
Association of Detroit. •
In a three page report on the status of the Hospital, the

board released three comprehen-
sive statements from the archi-
tect, the consultant, and Max Os-
nos, president of the association.
Reporting that preliminary
problems—such as the selection
and purchase of a suitable site,
negOtiations to effect building
zorie • changes with the approval
of the Common Council and the
task of designing buildings and
facilities—have been successfully
met, Osnos revealed that charter
contributors will soon be invited
to a special meeting with the Hos-
pital architects and with the con-
sultant, Dr. J.-J. Golub.
'Lack of Labor, Materials
Pointing out that there re-
mains a severe problem of rising
building costs, the board also re-
leased a statement by George H.
Miehls, president of Albert Kahn
Associated Architects and Engi-
neers, Inc., who said that the Hos-
pital plans are "in such state of
completion that you could, if you
-desired, ask for competitive ten-
ders on the construction late this

fer an unusual opportunity to
give free expression to modern
design."
The new Jewish Hospital will
not be , just another hospital, he
said, "but the last word in hospi-
tal design and construction that
considers the comfort of patients,
gives speedy and efficient service,
makes possible scientific measures
of diagnosis and treatment, per-
mits research and medical edu-
cation."
Hospital Board Members
Members of the Hospital board
include Max Osnos, president;
Sidney J. Allen, Maurice Arons-
son and Henry Wineman, vice-
presidents; Fred M. Butzel, chair-
man of board; Irwin I. Cohn, sec-
, retary; Israel Davidson, treasur-

pero, Abraham Srere, Frank A.
Wetsman and .Isidore Sobeloff and
Abe L. Sudran, ex-officio.

member of the board until his re-
cent -death.

Association, the Board reported
that to date, $2,405,659.14 has been
pledged and collections have
reached $1,960,032.26. By action
of the Hospital Board, investment
of the funds is limited to govern-
ment bonds, so that the money
will be readily available for con-
struction.
"One thing is certain," Osnos'
statement emphasized, "the Jews
of Detroit are committed to cre-
ate for themselves and for the
community a hospital that will do
credit to the cause we plan to
serve. 'just as soon as approval
is secured for the plans, as 'now
drawn, we shall proceed prompt-
ly to secure construction. offers

erection of the hospital at the

In a description of the Hospi-
