NEW YORK, (JPS) — Twenty
million people in the United
States possess some degree of
anti-Semitism, according to na-
tion-wide polls, Bruce Bliven
writes in the first of a series of
articles in the New Republic on
post-war anti-Semitism in Ameri-

Bliven says Anti-Semitism is

this country than it was in Ger-

propagandists leave their mark
on millions of people.
In Chicago, jobs closed to Jews
include 60 per cent of those offer-

ed to executives, 50 per cent of
sales-executive positions, 40 per
cent of clerical positions and 25
per cent of jobs open to women.
The Palestine situation "has
had tremendous repercussions" in
regard to anti-Semitism in the
United States, Bliven reports.
"The Arabs, in their fight against
a Jewish state, have disseminated
anti-Jewish propaganda in the
United States which has certainly
been effective," Bliven adds.
Despite general prosperity and
the G.I. Bill of Rights, there are
hundreds of colleges "which fol-
