the appointment of Mrs. Samuel
A. • Green, divisional president, to
the national vice-presidency, and
the appointment of Mrs. Harry
Frank', divisional vice-president
in charge of education, to the na-
tional board.

HARRY B. KEIDEN LODGE of
Bnai Brith Tuesday, Nov. 4 at
8:39 p.m. in the Normandie Room
of the Book Cadillac Hotel. A
movie on bowling, plus skits on
athletics will round out the pro-
gram. Two lodge members re-
ceive special citations from the
District Grand Lodge for their
outstanding Bnai Brith services.

Office of Chief Rabbi
Restored in Greece
ATHENS, (JTA) — Dr.. I. M.
Scheriber, newly-appointed chief
rabbi of Greece, arrived here by
plane from Jerusalem. The office
of chief rabbi, which was abol-
ished during the Nazi invasion,
was restored with the consent
of the government.

prominent Jewish National Fund
and Pioneer Women's worker,
JNF chairman of the PWO Coun-
cil of Detroit, is now touring
Palestine and sends encouraging
messages from Eretz Israel to her
husband. She writes: "A brief
visit here convinces that a Jew-
ish state already exists." She is
especially impressed with the
home life of Palestine Jews and
their internal, wholesome unity
and self-respect.
Mrs. Goldoftas writes that the
Jewish National Fund's accomp-
lishments are visible at every
step in Palestine.

To Feature Noted
Overstreet Talk

An "Overstreet" program Will
mark the opening meeting for
Detroit Section, National Coun-
cil of Jewish Women, at 12:30
p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the Jew-
ish Community Center. Dessert
luncheon will be served.
Bonaro Wilkinson Overstreet is
a teacher and writer noted for
her studies of human behavior.
Dr. Harry Allen Overstreet is
renowned for his pioneering
work in the field of adult edu-
cation. The popular husband and
wife team will speak on their
standard -title, "Recognizing the
Permanent in a Changing World."
Mrs. Maier B. Finsterwald
heads the program committee.
Mrs. David Marx is chairman of
the social hour committee. Mrs.
Harry Cohen and Mrs. M. L.
Rosenthal, co-chairmen of the
membership committee, and Mrs.
Melvin Kopple, chairman of the
courtesy committee, will be at
the door to welcome new mem--
