Honoring Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Danto of 718 Merton Rd. on their
40th anniversary, their children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Danto, Mr.
and Mrs. Jerry Kohn, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold . Wolfson, Dr. and Mrs.
Ben L. Faber, and Charles and Richard Danto entertained members
of the immediate family Oct. 12 with cocktails, followed, by dinner
at Northwood Inn.
Mr. and Mrs. -Leo I. Franklin of Muirland Ave. have as their
guests for a few days Mr. and Mrs. Paul Einstein of Cleveland.
Mr. and Mrs. William H. Frank of Wildemere Ave. are planning
to leave Saturday to spend a week in Atlantic City and New York.
Mrs. A. M. Hershman of Calvert Ave. has returned from New
York where she visited her daughters, Ruth and Eiga. and bid bon
voyage to her sister-in-law, Mrs. Samuel Lewin-Epstein, who sailed
on Monday for Palestine after a few months' visit in this country.
Mrs. Arthur Katzenlwrg of Brookline, Mass. is spending - 10
days as the guest of her sister, Mrs. M. M. Wittefshofer of Boston
Blvd.
Miss Ida E. Schott of Cleveland is the guest of Miss Sarah Sel-
minski, director of the Franklin Settlement House.
Included among the Detroiters who attended the Northwestern
game last week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Philip Marcuse. Mr. and Mrs.
John Hopp, Arthur Rice and Ivor Kahn.
Mrs. Samuel Lieberman and daughter, Marilyn, of Birchcrest
Dr. left last week for Waco, Tex., where they plan to spend a fort-
night visiting with members of their family,
Mr. and Mrs. Clement Hopp of Longfellow Ave. have returned
from Memphis, Tenn., wheer they spent a week visiting with her
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dreifus.
Miss Bess Steinberg left on Wednesday for New York after a
fortnight's visit with members of her family and friends.
Mrs. L. M. Jaffe has returned to her home in Cleveland,. having
been the guest of 'Mrs. William Grahm of Parkside Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wetsman of W. Chicago Blvd. have returned
from a motor trip to Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smilay of Balmoral Rd. have as their guest
for a few days her brother, Harry Goff of Akron, 0. •
Mr. and Mi;s. Harry LeVine of Muirland Ave. have returned
from a 10-day trip, having made stops at Chicago, Minneapolis,
Dayton and French Lick.
Mr. and Mrs. William Mazer of Birchcrest Dr. had- as their guest
last week her sister, Mrs. Albert Bowman of Buffalo.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Blacher of Greenlawn Ave. have returned
from a few clays' stay in London, Ont.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney H. Rein have moved from Frankfort Ave.
and are now residing at 19769 Hartwell Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rosenberg of Ohio Ave. left last week by
motor for California where they plan to spend a few months.
Rolf Manko has returned to Fort Wayne, Ind., after spending
the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Manko of
Calvert Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Katz of Whitmore Rd. have returned from
a visit in New York.
Mrs. Armin Hartman of Dexter Blvd. spent a few days in Flint
last week, visiting with her parents.
Mrs. Samuel. Preston of Monterey Ave. is spending a few days
in St. -Thomas..Ont., visiting with her brother-in-law and sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Gottleib were hosts at a dinner at the
Wardell Sheraton honoring the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Arnold R.
Out-of-town guests from Minersville, Pa.; Reading, Pa., and Harris-
burg, Pa., were present.. - •
Janis Gottleib was honored on her 16th birthday with aymcheon
at the Book Cadillac Hotel.
Mrs. A. Ruttenberg of Reading, Pa. has returned to her home
after visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Louis X.. Gottleib.
Mrs. Sidney Wallace of Canterbury Drive has returned from a
weekend in Chicago, where she visited with her daughter, Barbara
Jeanne, who is attending the Goodman School there.
Mrs. Sylvia Rosenberg and Mr. and Mrs. Al Rosenberg have
returned from Chicago, where they attended the Bar Mitzvah of
Howard Berg. ,
Elaine Goldrath celebrated her 16th birthday with a luncheon
for nine guests at the Book-Cadillac.
Mrs. Herman Berlin honored Jacqueline Siegel of Miami at a
luncheon at her home.
Frannie Kamin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis E. Kamin of
22-47 W. Boston Blvd., entertained 15 of her small friends at her home
Oct. 15 on the occasion of her sixth birthday.
Mrs. Albert Brown and Mrs. Sidney, Brown entertained at a
luncheon and shower for their sister-in-law, Florence Brown, at the
Canterbury House.
