have returned from their honeymoon in Indiana.

Dr. Saul I. Barnett of the Belcrest was the guest of the Palmer
House in Chicago this week, while he attended the meeting of the
Academy of Opthalmology.
lir. and Mrs. Albert E. Bernstein of 2400 W. Boston Blvd., have
returned from St. Louis where they attended the Inter-State Post-
graduate Medical Convention.
Mrs. S. Lambert Brown of the Lee Crest returned on Sunday
from Chicago where she spent a- few days as the guest of Mrs.
Marion Hirsch.
Mrs. David Seidman, Mrs. Saul Lamport, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander
Lamport of New York and Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Shapiro of Cleveland
are spending the week-end as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice
Landau of Longfellow Ave. and Mr. and Mrs. Julian Zemon of
Wildemere Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. David E. Williams of Glynn Ct. have returned from
Pittsburgh where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Goff.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Fish have returned to their home in High-
land Park, Ill:, after a few days' visit with her brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ziv of Wildemere Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lasky of Covington Rd. left on Sunday for
Miami Beach, Fla., where they will spend the winter months.
Herbert Aronsson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Aronsson of
Chicago Blvd., left for Wellesly Hills, Mass., where he will matric-
ulate at the Babson Institute.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hartman of Edison Ave. have returned from
Chicago where they visited her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and
Mrs. David Fireman.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Jacobs of Glynn Ct. have returned from a
visit in Washington, D. C., and New York.
Mrs. Max Broad of the Whittier left on Sunday for California
where she will spend the winter.
Mrs. A. M. Feld of Milwaukee is the guest of her son-ha-law and
daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Randolph Weber of Woodingham Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sacks of Dexter Blvd. are spending the week
in New York.
Mrs. Sidney Berke and Mrs: Phillip Weiss of the Whittier and
Mrs. Phillip Brown of the Lee Crest have returned from a few days'
stay in Chicago.
Mrs. S. Quentin Kessler of the Art Center Apt. has returned from
a week's stay in NewYork.
Mr. and Mrs. Caspar Cutler of Warrington Rd. left on Thursday
to spend a few days in Toronto.
Rhea Ann Schiff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Schiff of
Elmhurst Ave., has left for Babson Park, Fla., where she will attend
Webber College.
Miss Edith Langer of Fullerton Ave. has returned from a week's
visit in New York.
Mrs. Phillip Gilbert of Fairfield Ave. has returned from a stay
in New York.
Mrs. Stanley Schiller and small son, Eric, of Snowden Ave., left
on Saturday to spend a fortnight in Chicago visiting with members
of her family.
Mr. and Mrs. 'Jerome Elden of Rochester Ave. have • returned
from a motor trip to Worcester, Mass., and New :York.
Harry Alpert of Dickerson Ave. has returned from 10 days in
Boston and New York.
Mrs. Samuel Raskin of Rochester Ave. has returned from a visit
in the East.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Winer of 3312 Monterey entertained 100
guests at dinner Oct. 12 at Korn's Restaurant in s honor of the Bar
Mitzvah of .their son, Bur,ton Donald. Guests of honor were the Bar
Mitzvah's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruvin Winer and Mr. and
Mrs. Isaac Kopelov. -
Miss Sarah Dolinka and Mrs. M. Alpert will entertain at a tea
in honor of the approaching marriages of Miss Maye Binder and Miss
Cady Weiman at the home of Mrs. Alpert on Chicago Blvd. on Sun-
day, Oct. 19. _
Mrs. David Markel and Mrs. Ed Schlussel entertained - at a
luncheon and shower at the Book-Cadillac in honor of their niece,
Barbara Rice Madvin, who was recently married to Martin L. Mad-
vin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Madvin of Prairie Ave:
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Yanich have as their guests their daughter
and son-in-law, Rabbi and Mrs. Walter H. Plaut of Fargo, N. D.,
who are in Detroit to attend the wedding of Elise Zeme to Rabbi
_Harold B. Waintrub. Mrs. Plaut will go on to Atlantic City where
she will be a delegate of the Fargo. Chapter' to the national conven-
tion of Hadassah.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Shapero of Collingwood Ave. are attend-
ing the Jewish War Veterans National Convention in St. Paul, Minn.

Yiddish Stage Star
Music Study
Entertains Residents
At Home for the Aged Club's Artist

Concert Dec. 1

The residents of the Jewish
Home for Aged were entertained
by Celia Adler, first lady of the
Yiddish theatre, Wednesday af-
ternoon, Oct. 8.
Miss Adler, who appeared on
a program of the Shaarey Zedek.
Men's Club that evening appear-
ed through the efforts of Maurice
Seligman and Carl S. Schiller of
the Club.
In addition to Miss Adler's en-
tertainment, the movie season
opened at the Home with the
showing of "The Jolson Story",
through the courtesy of the
Schreiber family. The Schreibers
have been supplying the weekly
film for many years.
Alex Schreiber is a member
of the Recreational Committee of
the Home. This committee,
chaired by Dr. Benjamin Welling,
plans entertainment and recrea-
tional activities for the residentsl
Cantor Rubin Boyarsky of
Cong. Mishkan Israel will conduct
Sabbath services at the Jewish
Home for the Aged Oct. 18.

JNF Auxiliary Invites
Prospective Members to
Tea, Program Tuesday

The Ladies' Auxiliary of the
JewiSh National Fund will hold
its annual membership tea at the

Wildemere at 12:30 p.m., Tues-
day, October 21 to introduce new
members and to acquaint them
with the work and needs of Jew-
ish National Fund.
The program for the afternoon
will include the United Palestine
Appeal's latest documentary,
"Look Homeward, Wanderers," a
sound film which tells the grip-
ping story of Palestine. Guest
speaker will be Mrs. Irving. J.
Shevin, past president of the
Auxiliary of JNF.
Mrs. Albert Newman, member-
ship chairman, urges all mem-
bers to bring as many new and
prospective members as they can.
Anyone interested in joining the
Ladies Auxiliary is invited to at-
tend the tea.
